I manage a nineteen-plex and we currently use RTS, but have a large number of stations: 8 box-office stations and 16 concession stations. Does anyone have a comparable set-up, and if so, how do you handle station numbers and shift changes?

do you mean Radiant Theatre Systems? We used it at the 20 Plex I worked at. Radiant is a pain in the ass if though, as far as shift changes are concerned, we overlapped. Even # registers for the morning, odd for the evening....if we have to use all of them, they were counted as the morning person left and put back out for the night crew.

8 Radiant Box office terminals, but only 5 or 6 of them are currently operational.
We do not use Radiant concessions.

We have RTS at our nine screen. There are two box office terminals, three concession terminals, and one booth monitor.

10-12 box office terminals, well over twenty Concession terminals.
Simplist solution is to assing people to alternating registers. If not, the system is capable of doing multiple shifts at a register, you can close POS shifts and terminals and substations (with the proper user authority) baring that your Tabulation practices are also as flexible.

I think some of you are confusing RTS (Ready Theatre Systems) with RTMS (Radiant Theatre Management System)

Yes, I meant Ready Theatre Systems, not Radiant. Sorry for the confusion.

Tim,
We use RTS (Ready Theater Systems) for over a year now. We have 7 concession stations and 2 box office stations. We just implimented credit cards around the 1st of November. I'm glad we did, because it really came in handy for gift certificate sales. Are you using gift cards (magnetic swipe) feature in the RTS software?
BTW, what parts of Indiana are you in? I go there quite often cause I have family there.

We use Ready Theatre Systems but not nearly to its potential. We have three box stations and we use regular cash registers for concessions.

The Fargo just converted to touchscreens and RTS this past November. 1 Box, 1 Conc, 1 Saferoom terminal, and a booth monitor.

We just added RTS in October. One box, and two concession. We have a fourth station that we aren't using right now. They're all equipped with touch screens. Wouldn't be without one anymore. We're thinking of adding credit card service soon. I like the idea of magnetic swipe reloadable gift certificates(cards).

Hello everyone - my 1st post on a topic that I know alot about
We are the 3rd theater in our independent chain that has added RTC. We Added the software after our remodel last November/December. We have 1 BoxOffice, 2 Concession & 1 Office/Monitor. Its got its quirks - but love it compared the the cash registers before.
I am trying to convince owners to add CC capability and get rid of taking checks (too slow and too many bounce).
Tony
