Mike S. had mentioned that he had a 44% film rental last year. That is fantastic. What is the general advise on how to get there if one has a booking agent. It is a reasonable goal for a triplex first run?

Mike's theatres have over ten screens and can play films for a long period of time, driving his aggregate percent down.

Also, from what I've gathered, he has an urban audience. This means he does well with films that may not do well nationally. The movies studios have lower expectations for these pictures, and offer cheaper deals then on "Harry Potter", for example.

I have a four screen, first run theatre and I have a booker. I'm currently paying a little over 50% for 2005.

You could easily get your percent down to 44%...play stuff off the break at 35%. You may not be better off though, since your attendence would most likely drop.

Matt pegged it. My top 10 movies this year? 1 - Diary Of A Mad Black Woman, 2 - The Gospel, 3 - Four Brothers, 4 - Fantastic Four, 5 - Are We There Yet?, 6 - The Longest Yard, 7 - Hustle & Flow, 8 - Coach Carter, 9 - Roll Bounce, 10 - Batman Begins. Being an urban theatre doesn't save us money on, say Star Wars ... but when Star Wars is your #13 picture of the year, it doesn't have as much of an effect on your total aggregate.
