Given the economy, gas prices, increased cost of good sold, and reduced theatre attendance, it is hard to know how to adjust prices. Can people comment on when was the last time they adjusted prices in Box and concession?
We have not changed concession prices in about three years.
We have not changed concession prices in about two years.
thanks

We raised our ticket price by 50 cents last year. The only complaints we have had, have been from teenagers who are stupid. However given the industry climate right now, I would advice against raising your prices unless you really need to. When we raised ours, they'd been the same for four years so we were starting to feel the crunch.
We haven't changed our concession prices since 2001.

Some circuits raise their prices each year due to the increases of their expenses - overhead expenses, property expenses..et.al.
Smaller ones can stay at a more steadier level due to very low overhead.
Also, some states that raise their individual minimum wages, up goes the rates as well - as did Oregon, who right now raised their min. wage from $7.25 to $7.50 (!!!), thus up went everything...

Being an independent we usually just match the "Big Chain" prices you don't want to have your prices to much lower because people think you a cheaper theatre for a reason, especially in the resort areas where people associate good with price. that said we do keep it lower by little bit but it cant be drastic say more than .50 on tickets

We are planning some slight adjustments to concession prices due to increases in our pricing from our suppliers..
