I guess this belongs in the ground level forum. I was just wondering what the rough cost of a new DTS XD10 player with timecode reader is. I assume they don't make the 6D anymore. I know the price can vary by dealer/volume etc but I'm just looking for a ballpark.

Call Richard Fowler or Cinema Equipment Co. in Miami for a price. Most dealers are very reluctant to post any pricing on the forums other than list price...

A quick google search will give you that information. Some dealer websites have prices quoted on them.

One I found showed list price at $7950.00, but on sale for $5900.00

My recomendation is that you ask the service engineering company you use. My policy is if you buy it somewhere else then they deal with it for installation and service and if it causes a problem in other areas of the equipment you pay for the call
If you expect a company to provide onsite service then they need to be the sole source of the equipment used
it is not a two way street

Actually I don't discourage customers from buying used equipment from other dealers or elsewhere. We ALWAYS make more $$ repairing that used equipment when it first goes in than profit if we had sold the same thing new.

my experience is that you then become "uncooperative" since you don't "bless" their plan and therefore become a bad guy. Louis
