Opened November of 1929, closed November 22, 2006. I know that there a few forum members here that have done tech work, and or visited the West Bend Theatre in WI. Last night was the final day of operations. Not due to the lack of business or product, but the result of a buyout from a local competitor. As of what I have been told, they have no intentions of keeping it open as a movie theatre. This cute little movie palace screened its final films (Casino Royale and A Good Year)last night.
I will definitely miss the place, as I have been with the theatre for over 7 years. I remember my parents dropping us kids off Saturday afternoons to see movies there when I was a little tike. Now, as a grownup tike I am sadden to drive by the theatre and see it dark. At least our staff and I have fond memories to recall.
The hardest thing that I have had to do in the past 15 years, was to inform a staff of 8 that they would not have to report to work for their next shift. There wasn't a dry eye in the bunch.
Need a Manager or concession personnel??????????? Give me an email. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

In some states - that's actually illegal. I actually know people who have been sued for doing this very thing! I guess if the owners agreed to it- oh well. But -I always say - "fight the good fight".

That’s sad... The West Bend was a neat little place. I installed all of the equipment in that theater. Even sadder is the fact that the competitors have a really suck ass operation. I know... I installed their equipment too!
