Has anyone ever heard of an Independant or Chain called the "American Screens" company?
They apparently are building a new location in Virginia and I've never heard of them.
It could be a slightly different title or a variation like "America Screens" or something to that effect.
Thanks.

Where in Virginia? I'd heard rumors about a company possibly coming to Richmond. I forget now who it was but I don't think it was this one.

The one your heard about is probably Bowtie Cinemas. I have been told they are building a new location there soon.
The area I was wondering about was the Ashburn/Brambleton area. (I am aware of the Consolidated going up.) I was wondering about the name "American Screens".

With more than 125 screens already, what the Richmond area doesn't need is more screens. But Bow Tie has bought an entire small block in downtown Richmond, between 4th St, 3rd St., Cary St. and Main St. Also they claim to have started construction on Boulevard Square 16 at Leigh St. and the Boulevard. Check their site.

I had heard something about the Richmond Steel building near the Diamond being used. When I was in town yesterday, it looked like all the steel siding had been removed from the Boulevard side of the building. I wish I'd have known they might be building, I would have driven over to take a look. But I do agree on the overscreening. A 16 in downtown??

Their website doesn't say what they're going to do downtown. Anybody who'd build 16 there must have excrement for brains.
