Was curious if anyone has tried marketing and running these? Seems like an idea that has potential but the couple of film bookers I have talked with dont have any real pattern on success or failure of this.

A four screen here in Yuma, Arizona tried this. They went out of business 3 months after starting, and we have a very large spanish-speaking population.

The Vue Leeds Light cinema did run Pan's Labyrinth a while ago; it was subtitled (using the digital projector). Despite not being in English, the film did rather well - there were certainly many other people in the cinema when I saw it.

It doesn't really matter how many people in the area speak Spanish, it depends on how good the film is! The question is, would non-Spanish speakers be prepared to read the subtitles all the way through the film? Reading subtitles on a TV screen isn't so bad, but having to glance down to the bottom of a big cinema screen every couple of seconds is a bit demanding...

Having said that though, subtitled Bollywood films often do well in this country...

Thomas, I believe he means English language films with Spanish subtitles.

I did a search for "spanish" on all the forums and did read that post and not too much information. Thank you tho. Are you brushing fast or slow in your av?
