We've had a few complaints this past weekend that the continuity of the movie "We own the night" is off. The complaints aren't specific and rather vague, but this is what I came up with.

Has anyone else had this come up? Has anyone seen the movie and may lend a clue?

I built both of our prints myself, and I'm confident in my work, and we've had comments regarding both, so it isn't likely that I screwed up both. Any help is appreciated. [thumbsup]

1st, what are the complaints? WHat are the customers saying is wrong?

2nd, this is one of the biggest complaints about this film is the plot holes. But the ones your customers are seeing may or may not be part of the film. [Smile] So again what are the complaints and lets see if we can get to the bottom of this.

If I ever have this complaint - I take the time to go 'check out my competition'. I actually go see the film in question somewhere else and compare it to the one I am running. In 18 years I have actually had two projectionists put reels out of order. "King Ralph" and "The Rookie" (the baseball one). Both times I had people complain about the fact that the film seemed 'out of order'. This would be one reason to screen all your prints also. It does happen for various reasons. It is best just to check behind yourself.

BTW - I know the film "The Rookie" was intially a sneak preview and the film came in just hours before the screening. We never had a chance to screen it. After the sneak, someone came out of the film and said "The film seemed out of order, but I know that's not possible". I then thought "yeah, actually it is possible". Ha - that was a great night! NOT!

Bryan - do you store or hang up your leaders one-by-one in order when building prints? If so, you could just look at the reel numbers on the leaders and see if they are in order.
