Hi all
the other day I was at a convience store after a power outage. the lady behind the counter there asked me to help her find the reset switch on the air compressor so that the soda machine would work, I asked her don't u mean that your co2 needs changed?
she said no that the air compressor has to run for the soda machine to work well I found the switch and turned it on and it did start working . I traced the pipe from the compressor to the machine and it is hooked up above the co2 line I have nbever seen anything like this how can it work and be carbinated? what would the reason for this be?

We have a similar set up. The air compressors run the soda pumps and the CO2 is routed to the carbonators. There is a bypass valve that can be switched so that when a compressor dies the CO2 can be routed to the pumps as well. I believe this is meant to conserve CO2 usage but I'm not sure that outweighs the cost of the compressors.

yes it is so you use less Co2. Cinemark had this setup often in their tinseltown version theatres.
