Our theatre has brass door pulls. Does anyone have any tips on easy ways of keeping them polished? I've tried a lot of different polishes but the handles always get to looking like crap after about 10 minutes of people grabbing them...is there any way to keep the shine, short of a full two-part polish job?

Try laquering it after you have polished to a shine. Brass fixtures usually come laquered from the manufacturer (the reason new brass tends to hold a shine). After wear and polishing, this laquer is worn off and the shine doesn't last. There are quite a few brass laquer products out there, but many end up creating a dull look. I've found G.J. Nikolas & Co. products to work well, as they have quite a few specialized lines to choose from.
