Can anyone recommend a good stereo FM transmitter that can be used in a theater auditorium to enable patrons to listen to the sound on their portable walk-man type radios? I see the FMX1000 on Jack Roe's site. Any experience with it? Is it too powerful for use in an auditorium?

Williams Sound makes a couple ADA-approved FM transmitter systems. Don't know if they're any good (I've only worked with IR), but they are out there.

I run Broadcast Warehouse TX-5's at my drive-in, but they are way more than overkill for your application. Something simple like a Ramsey FM-25B or the new equivalent would probably do what your wanting without spending a fortune.
