This may be one for the Aussies on the Film-Tech but I'm hoping that anyone may be able to help.

Would anyone know who the male voice over talent was for the David Koffel Featured Theatre Ads 'till about the early 80's? He had a very distinctive voice and as part of some research I'm doing, I would like to credit him with the work he did.

Anyone know who this Gent is?

I know Peter Hannett was used in the 80's for Val Moron. Also later in the 90's for VM it was Grant Goldman...but can't recall the DK announcer.

I was given one of those slide machines (RCA Hi-Lite) in terrible shape when I bought a couple of old C&Ws, but have since passed it all on to a fellow collector who may hopefully be able to do something with it. Likewise the cinema I now work in only had it's carbon arc slide machine taken out in the mid-2000s.

Those Hi-Lites were a very popular slide arc. I'd love to get my hands on a VTS (Westrex) though. Very nice- and the things you can do with them!

Ian, can't help I'm afraid, but I can remember the voice. I recall that at GU we had silent slides until Pearl & Dean took over and we then converted to talkie slides.

Speaking about the old DK 35mm tag, brings back memories; I think that was my favourite.

Bruce Mansfield, who did Val Moron talkies at Hoyts drive-ins, told me that he used to try and stretch some ads to give them extra screen time and value. He was then told a few months later to speed it up as some of the slides were cracking due to the heat!

Did the Australian Pearl and Dean use Asteroid (Youtube Official as their theme tune?

The UK company was sold for One Pound Stirling (+debit) recently a whopping 30 pence (0.3 Pounds Stirling) more than a download of Asteroid from iTunes.

I ran that tag back in the early 90's in London, but afaik it never screened here. Pearl and Dean as a cinema advertising company has been defunct here since around 2000.

Val Morgan was at the West line DI from the day it opened in November 1978 until it closed in May 1986. We ran P@D at the hard-top from around 1982 to 1985 when VM took over there as well.

The Westline complex still stands and the ramps are still paved. That's about it.

John, I should have some time this week to get it done. There are also a few battered Village and G.U (That's what I want)tags, as well as the John Player Special cigarette ad and other assorted stuff. As soon as I get it done Ill let you know and post it up here.
