So, Peter S Beagle is coming into town and doing some Q&As after some screenings we're having of The Last Unicorn. Since he wrote the screenplay for the animated The Lord of the Rings movie too, we're trying to book a screening of that as well.
I've tried WB and they no longer have the rights to it. Does anyone out there know who might?
Thanks!

The animated version was produced by The Saul Zaentz Company. They have a licensing division (formerly Tolkien Enterprises)

You may not get an answer right away as the producer of this movie, Saul Zaentz, passed away just last night.

Given that the film was produced in the UK, it might be worth contacting the BFI Archive's Viewing Service if Middle Earth Enterprises is unable to help. If they have a print that they let out for screenings, the chances are that they'll know who the current rights owner (or authorised sub-licensee for the US) is. Could be a tricky one to track down, as it was an independent production that was then distributed by the majors.
