In new add in which Spider-mans appears to deliver the box with the Amazing Spider-Man 2 dcp to Stan Lee in a projection booth, it is stated the the movie will be "delivered by the USPS." Does anyone think this will literally be the case and USPS will be bringing the DCPs exclusively instead of FedEx or UPS?

That's probably just advertising talk for "sponsored."

Same way Sony said it was "assembling" the Lego movie.

USPS doesn't have the overnight capacity to deliver a movie to every location. It would have to be shipped a couple of days earlier than normal to meet the delivery times for some places and I doubt the studio would go for that. Here, for example, if you go into the post office to ship an "overnight" package it can take up to 3 days to arrive. With UPS or FedEx, however, overnight means overnight.

I thought the DCP would've been shipped through something more discrete and quicker like UPS. I doubt USPS would bring The Amazing Spider Man 2 DCPs to theaters nationwide, I assume it's too much for them.

I love the nod to the Ziegfeld Theatre being a New Yorker. The exterior and the auditorium is the Ziegfeld while the lobby is a set and maybe so is the projection booth as I've never been inside. Ironically, I saw the first Amazing Spider-Man at the Ziegfeld.

I love how even though he's delivering a hard drive they STILL portray a projection booth as reel to reel when that reality hasn't been so for SO many years.

Yep! Looks more interesting than a boring ol' rectangle of a projector. Though that rectangle would probably still be pointed straight down like those film projectors in the ad (only caught a glimpse).

Perhaps Spider-man isn't delivering a DCP, but instead the Screenvision rolling stock. Can't let the fans down, after all.
