Director David Lean was born and lived in Croydon, and the small cinema at the Croydon Clocktower was named after him.

On June 25th, as part of the Croydon Heritage Festival one of his films will be screened there. The film is 'Summer Madness', sometimes known by the alternative title of 'Summertime'. This will be a rare opportunity to see this film in a cinema, I've never seen it, though I have heard of it. It's said to have been David Lean's personal favourite.

It will also be our first 35 mm show since we started screening at the cinema in March 2014.
