I have recently been assigned the task of ordering posters. Years ago, most posters came from Technicolor, and some from a few other places. Can someone please give me a list of all current places to order posters from. For instance, we get a majority of our posters in advance, but hardly ever from Paramount. Are they stingy or do they have their own separate marketing department to order from?

Sounds like you are already getting your stuff from Vision Media, which is just Tech's new name for that part of the biz. If you are not getting something you think you should, call them and make sure your account is set up to get whatever it is you want.

Many of the small indie films handle their own materials, so you need to call them, or have your booker do so.

Paramount, Warner Bros, Disney and a bunch of smaller studios all use Technicolor. The website is cool.technicolor.com. The site works, but is extremely slow and clunky. You can also email them, customer.service@technicolor.com.

20th Century Fox and Universal have their own websites:

foxintheatre.com for Fox

Universal is in-theatermarketing.com

Sony has a website too, but you have to change the password frequently, and you can't use a password you ever used before, and there is a long list of "real words" you can't use in your password, you can't use your previous password backwards, and you have to "accept" their terms and conditions by scrolling and checking a box every time you visit, etc. etc. etc. (I mean COME ON, we're not talking nuclear codes here, it's MOVIE POSTERS!) As a result, for them, it's just easier to send your request to your regional exhibitor relations person. That address depends on where you're located, of course.

I stopped ordering one sheets last summer when Technicolor advised that accounts serviced by USPS mail (paper billings) would be subject to a $20.00 billing charge.
The claim that Technicolor was "Going Green" was simply a fashionable disguise for the cost efficiencies of electronic delivery!
Do any of the distribution companies still have in house contacts from whom one can obtain marketing materials?

I don't think that was ever actually implemented, or maybe it's selective on their part. At any rate, I would not want to go without onesheets...they are iconic, first of all, and besides, they're the second-best form of advertising after trailers.

I signed up for their email invoices, but half the time they wouldn't show up, therefore they wouldn't get paid, so after a few emails back and forth with them, we now get paper invoices but we don't get a "billing charge."

I also tried to set up an automatic credit card payment deal with them -- filled out the required form and etc. but they couldn't make that work either. It would work once and then we'd be back to getting past-due notices again.

Nowadays they send me paper invoices and I send them paper checks and I guess we're all happy.

Ugh, I really dislike the website. Every single time I go to reset the password it locks me out of my account and I have to call them. Not worth it.
