In your own humble opinion, what would you say that the worst movie quote line you have ever heard?one of mine would probably have to be in Soldier.
"so what are going to?"
"i am going to kill them all sir"
or pretty much any Arnold Scwarzneggar action flick. Especially his infamous role in Batman,
"Chill out!" ugh that was a bad one!

Worst line:Flinstones in viva rock vegas... ALL OF THEM!!
No actually it would be right at the beginning when the universal letters pass by and the martian says "did anyone see those letters fly by?"
Posted by Dennis Atkinson (Member # 345) on 07-14-2000, 07:38 AM:
The letters flying by was the best part of the Flintstones!

Here are a couple of gems from X-Men (It's now been 24 hours after seeing the movie, so I hope I got the wording correct):How are we you going to find her?
The traditional way -- Look!
Know what happens to a toad that hits by lightning? (pause) The same thing that happens to everything else!

In my opinion, the worst lines in movies are the "title lines".Examples:
"It's an Executive Decision now."
"We've got ourselves a Broken Arrow"
"It's not mission difficult Mr. Hunt, it's Mission Impossible."
"Dad, it's The Faculty."
"It's The Perfect Storm."
Yup, nothing like reminding the audience they are watching a movie with it's title.
Posted by Evans A Criswell (Member # 381) on 07-16-2000, 09:27 PM:
I agree with Brad about the title being used in a line, especially if it seems like they had to force it in there unnaturally.I just saw X-Men again and here is another bad one-liner:
"Are you sure you saw what you saw?"

"You know what you just did?... What?... You just rolled up a snowball and threw it into hell!" --MI:2------------------

I thought it was "We just rolled up a snowball and tossed it into hell. Now we'll see what chance it has." Wow. What a line. But I think I've got one that's worse. How's THIS for a BAD one liner?
"So why don't you make like a library and book?" -- Stephen King's The Stand (Mini-series).
So do I win? Did I get the prize?

Speaking of films where they use the title in the film over and over again... what about BATMAN... I mean we all know who he is... do they have to keep announcing hes here... I mean is there someone ELSE running around in rubber suits that have more muscle than the actor inside it?Dave

Mary Elizabeth Matrontonio:"Billy!! Billy!! You're heading right for the middle of the monster!"
Boy did that one make me laugh.
"do you know what happens to a toad..."
second worst. Even though I really enjoyed that film tremendously. Maybe Halle begged for a one liner?
Posted by Ethan Harper (Member # 472) on 07-18-2000, 12:25 PM:
Dwayne, I thinkk i might have you beat hows this for ya?"your luggage!"
--Eraser
"you had me at hello!"
--Jerry Mcguire(sp?)

How about these?"You're the rocketman." -- The Rock.
"You don't put on a condom unless you're willing to f**k!" -- Crimson Tide.
"Put the bunny down." -- Con Air.
It's easy to pick bad one liners from any Jerry Bruckheimer movie (except Beverly Hills Cop).

Ethan, you forgot one..."Wherever you go, there you are."
--Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch Movie"

"... remember. No matter where you go... there you are."-- The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai (Across the 8th Dimension)
-- Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
For the record, that's a bad one liner that I just happen to love. And Buckaroo Banzai's full of them.
"Character is what you are in the dark."

I'm familiar with the Plan 9 "stupid minds" quote. In fact, if I remember correctly, the alien get slugged by the captain right after the quote is finished. You lost me on the others though.I thought this one was a real groaner.
"I thought Christmas only comes once a year."

"You have to take these."
"What are they?"
"Charcoal."
"Charcoal?"
"Charcoal, so I can start a fire in your heart."
"Sometimes, when someone is trying to tell you something, they're trying to tell you something."
Both from "Loser" last night, which seemed to live up to its name as far as the business it did (only 40-50 people in the 7:30 showing at the busiest theatre in town).
Posted by Dwayne Caldwell (Member # 417) on 07-22-2000, 04:01 PM:
Well those lines from "Loser" take the prize as far as I'm concerned. "Charcoal so I can start a fire in your heart." Why didn't they just say:"Did it hurt?"
"Did what hurt?"
"When you fell from heaven?"

"is that a mirror in your pocket,...because i can see myself in your pants"
--Night at the Roxbury
oh wait that was funny nm
Has anyone seen that really bad independeent film called Jack frost? where the snowman is a serial killer. ugh that was bad. either way going back to your 007 liner after the scene where the snowman places his carrot nose on the area where his groin would be and rapes some girl in a bathtub, he then exclaims terribbly
"ahhhhhh, Christmas comes but once a year"
and my personal favorite
"dont eat yellow snow!"

Okay this is from my favorite movie of all time, but it's a really bad line.Jenny: "Neville Sinclair is a...?"
Neville: "A what? Nazi? Saboteur? Fascist?
All of the above."
-The Rocketeer

I think that Patriot was laden with stupid lines - I mean, come on, it was 3 hours long.Example: the black guy finds out all slaves who fight will win their freedom
white guy "Freedom? What're you gunna do with freedom?"
On a sort of related note (well not really), has anyone ever noticed amusing names in the credits? If my memory serves me correctly, the transportation captain for American Beauty was "Randy Lovelady".
I'm serious!

"We Want Dolemite, give hime to us'
"He aint in here"
"yes he is, wheres he hidin"
"He aint in here stupid"

In the film "The Children", about kids who come into contact with toxic waste and subsequently touch people with hands of destruction, a guy is killed and a cop and this other character pull off to the side of the road to investigate. His remains are charred and burnt beyond recognition and their is partially denuded bone poking through the burned corpse. The two characters approach the lifeless form. One checks a pulse and says,...
"He's dead".
I nearly pissed myself.

I used to work with your Dad in Houston, I was the Altec man there in the 80s. I used to enjoy talking with him a good deal, and had a lot of respect for him.
Is he still around?

Bad lines are not a new thing.
Spencer's Mountain (1963)
AFTER Henry Fonda (Spencer) has a meeting with the dean of the college for the 2nd time, he is told that his son is being admitted to the school. As Fonda happily walks out of the room, he passes the secretary who pokes her head in the office and says to the dean: "You must live for days like this." Soupy music is on the soundtrack. It doesent work.
Sure looks good in Technicolor, faults and all.
