I would DEFINATLY say that Star Trek 2, the Wrath Of Kahn, was 10 times better than star trek the motion picture! Hands Down! Too bad I didnt get to see it on the big screen!

I liked Temple also, but it should be made abundantly clear to all that there is nothing better than Raiders Of The Lost Ark. 
Odd sequel #1: 'Surf 2' (1984)...There was no 'Surf 1'.

Just to clear it up for you Richard i certainly did list the best, but how anyone can say Temple of Doom was better than Raiders i don't know, and as for The Spy who Shagged Me well its just a carbon copy of the original with a bigger budget , same jokes similar plot but i am not saying its not a work of genious Mike Myers should be crowned King of England and be allowed to reign as he sees fit(Austin Powers would make a great King). After all he's alot better looking the Charles even with dodgy teeth.Has any one got any comments on other MM films one of my favorites has to be So i married an Axe murderer??????

Yeah I thought Evil Dead 3 was the best of the lot too - although the other two did have that nice reek of 'cheap' - and the story lines were too good to miss - I mean, just the whole concept of "evil has taken over my hand so I have to cut it off with a chainsaw and then shoot it with my shotgun" must be the work of a genius.But while you're talking about Army of Darkness, which ending was the best? My favourite was the one where Ash returns to Housewares.

Temple of Doom? Please, that film was just a series of gross outs that did not impress anyone.Austin Powers 2? Same thing, just gross out jokes. The first is better.
Empire strikes back. Definately. It was superior to the original.
Star Trek 2. Its a sequel that isnt a sequel. The first film was originally to be a tv show. It was horrible, and Harve Bennet was called in to create a new film that pretended that the first one really didnt happen.
My vote for best sequel... Aliens, directors cut. Very good film.

well that's what I can come up with for now. the true test is think to yourself would you buy the sequel first or not buy the original at all.

Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes BackIrvin Kershner has a knack mimicking the original director and then making the movie even darker yet make the movie seem more polished and brighter in photography. I did find Robocop 2 more tongue-in-cheek than original, but is what it made it so fun to watch. It seemed to be self aware...
