I always welcome "Newbies", and their questions usually provoke good discussion. Specific questions are welcome, but a discussion group cannot get into alot of detail normally available elsewhere over and over again, or it may quickly bog down. The expectation is that people "do their homework" and learn from books, on-line publications, and previous postings. Finally, once you actually get a job in a theatre, having a good mentor willing to share skills and knowledge is invaluable. Keep the questions coming, but use other resources as well.------------------

Betsie, I wish you were here in Kentucky because I can use anyone who is interested and willing to learn this job. Do not be affraid to ask questions. I have trained many people male and female and I can tell who is interested and who just wants to escape the floor duties. Yes there is a lot of information out there that you can read. But don't be afraid to ask the questions that you have asked. Sometimes you have to experience it to understand it. Just reading it sometimes does not work. I do not believe in stupid questions. What's stupid is the question never being asked.
