1. You check film-tech forums at least once an hour to see if any new posts have been made.

2. The Film-Yak forum has superceded all your other sources for jokes on the net.

3. You put a link to film-tech on a WWW site that you run, not primarily to let your users know about it, but to provide a link so you can more easily get to it.

4. You post a review of a movie on the movie review forum as soon as you get to a computer after leaving the movie theatre.

5. You have no fear of condemnation by other members if you mention thinking that your booth is haunted.

6. You edit every post 4 or 5 times after first submission to correct every spelling and grammatical error that you're aware of.

7. You get depressed if it is a slow day for film-tech postings.

8. When you're sitting in a theatre, you notice every detail that is wrong with the presentation and auditorium environment and wish you could fix it.

9. When someone asks you how a movie was, you give details based on the quality of the presentation rather than of the movie contents or quality.

10. Any time you're in any room in a building with a large amount of unused space, you calculate the maximum size screen that could be placed there and think of how the room could be turned into a theatre auditorium.

11. If your theatre has more than 16 screens, you are dying to interlock a movie through all of the projectors to top the 16-way interlock.

12. Microsoft Internet Explorer always knows your username and password for film-tech, so you never have to actually type it.

13. You find yourself using the phrase "Film Done Right" to describe theatres with excellent presentation quality.

14. After any movie, you know if sperical or anamorphic lenses were used, and know how many blades were in the shutter mechanism of the camera that filmed it.

15. You wonder what the moderator, Brad Miller, really looks like.

Actually I used to have Film-Tech as my home page. Not too long ago when Brad Miller (yes, the ACTUAL Brad Miller himself in person) was at my house he asked to see what the site looked like on my computer (Mac G4). He was disappointed that Film-Tech was no longer my home page. After I talked him out of suicide and saved a dozen babies from a burning building across the street, I, uh, got to the point of this post...

I don't like any page as my home page. If I want to launch my browser really quick to check some site out, I don't want it trying to go somewhere else first. I know exactly how far down the menu Film-Tech is on my bookmarks, though.

Ummm... Joe? Are you saying that Film-Tech isn't the FIRST bookmark on your list?

Shame on you!

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 04-08-2001, 04:29 PM:

Nope. I had created so many more bookmarks before Brad Miller was even born (even though he is older than me). And I am used to those other bookmarks where they already were. So my bookmark menu is pretty happy!

Oh... just to explain to those people who aren't using Macs:

Ya' see, Mac OS X is capable of time travel. There's a little icon on the desktop (now called the "dock") when you click on it a little dialogue pops up with this little slider thingy on it. I though it was to adjust my clock settings and I set it back to the year1904 accidentally. If it hadn't been for my UPS I might have never gotten back!

Now let's see Windoze do that?

12 of 15 Whoa. I need to get a life.

Has anyone noticed that it is possible Joe Redifer and Brad Miller are the same person.

Now I know that they will both deny this but the more they deny the more I will believe it's true. That is why Brad will never post his picture. Next time you see Brad look at his pointing finger see if you can steal a finger print. I'll send it to the FBI for checking out. If they deny this we will check IRS records.

Ok, guys, go ahead and start the Denials.

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 04-08-2001, 09:35 PM:

This is not the first time this has happened. Here is an easy solution:

Ian Price, a member of this forum, used to work with me (Joe Redifer) for several years. He has also met Brad Miller (not me) in person at the UA Galaxy in Texas. Right as Ian got into the parking lot of the Galaxy after leaving the theater, he called me (Joe Redifer) at the Mann Chinese 16 Theater in Colorado to tell me that he had just met Brad. This was before I met Brad in person.

Who has met us both? Let's see:

Help us out here, people!

Plus if this was my site, I think I would have it as my home page

That's not why Brad won't post his picture. He won't even LET anyone take his picture. I've tried. I was threatened. I do have a picture of him walking around at Mann Southwest Plaza 5 that he doesn't know about (until now) but you can't see his face because he is walking away.

Sorry Joe, but most of us use to watch Mission Impossible.

You had a friend pose as Brad when Ian was there. Or maybe, you posed as Brad and you buddy played Joe.

We know from your computer expertise that you can play games with area codes. It is easy to disguise your voice. I saw Cary Grant do that in North by Northwest. How easy is that.

The gig is up. Time to come clean.

Let's hear more denials.

Actually, anyone at the Chinese theater can verify we are two different people (despite the fact that I am pointing my finger at you).

Problem with the Chinese Theater (or all of Colorado Cinemas) is that just about everybody is way too lame to actually post! Cmon, somebody prove me wrong!

That would be some coup, though... having somebody pose as Brad for Ian's visit. Imagine getting them upstairs and into the booth on a Thursday night at UA's flagship theater. Just for Ian's visit! I like playing with Ian's mind but that is just too much trouble

I bet Evans can prove mathematically that we are two different people!

Do we have anyone here who knows anything about linguistics? Surely there's a way to distinguish Brad from Joe by means of writing style or something like that. (Or maybe prove that they are indeed one in the same.)

Posted by Bob Maar (Member # 763) on 04-09-2001, 07:49 AM:

Evans will, most likely confirm that you are one person, possibly with a split personality.
However I am sure that you now realize that the cover game is over and I doubt that anyone who is registered and or lurking would belive a posted picture is correct. For instance, the picture of Joe wearing the film-tech cap, clearly the hat is 5 sizes to big. The hat clearly belongs to a person with an enormous head. A head so large it contain's one of the world's biggest brains and that translates into cover up. We are now into year two of the "Brad/Joe Put-on-show". Clever devils that you are.

I once heard of that New York City suburb "Colorado" which I understand is on the other side of the Hudson River. Also, if anyone out here can zoom in on the tip of that finger we may be able to pull the print off electronically.

Scott, They have this all planned out in advance and as the did in "The Manchurian Candidate" they have pre- programmed Ian Price and Dwayne Caldwell who may in reality be automatrons. Notice how they always have the same expression in their posted photo.

Ever notice at Film-tech get togethers, Brad/Joe always have an emergency. We have to take their word for it. Well our neighbor's from Missouri say "Prove it!".

Have a nice day.

While I also enjoy playing with Ian's mind, I also agree that is too much trouble. Of course, Ian never was smart enough to check ID.

I have faith in Evans. He will definitely be able to prove this beyond a mathematical shadow of a doubt, despite the fact he has not met either of us.

To the rest of the members, pay careful attention to Bob's picture. Notice his expression never changes either. Hmmmmmmm.

You all know that in Reality Brad makes a good point. But how does he know for sure that the picture that is posted is really me.
Just because someone, let's say, Gordon McCloud were to send it to Brad and say this is Bob Maar at Showest. Does that mean it's really me. What if that picture is really, Paul Thompson?

You know, It's possible Ian Price is really Joe Redifer who in real life is Brad Miller.
Could this all be a cover up because Brad/Joe is married to Rachel Carter? How does Randy Stankey fit into all of this.

I heard a rumor that John Pytlak actually found a picture of Brad taken from space but when he posted the link, it mysteriously disappeared. Hmmmmm

Other people have informed me that Joe Redifer was present at the birth of the solar system. Maybe the "Big Bang" made him the way he is.

I will abide by the results of Evans study.

I don't plan to make an "F". I made a 94 on my first test and a 95 on my first homework assignment, so I'd like to continue making those kind of grades. My final exam is 2 weeks from Wednesday. It's a graduate level (CS642) image processing class and it is very mathematical, using some mathematical operations I haven't used since 1986. The neat thing about the class is that a lot of what I'm learning is directly applicable to some of the discussions that have taken place on these forums, especially those concerning digital projection and filming.

Wish me luck on the homework. I have not made a "B" since I started working on my Ph.D., so I surely don't want to screw up and make one this term.

Evans,

That is a good idea, but those who have actually seen Brad will have the unfair advantage here. So we would have to limit the entries to those who have never met Brad. But then again whose to say that Dwayne Caldwell "The man with the Magic Hands" could not also be Brad? After all both live in the Dallas area according to the place under thier respective names. I Triple Dog Dare you to prove mathematically that Brad is not aslo Joe or Dwayne or both.

I am going to be in Irving Tx in June. I have exteneded an invitation to Brad to have me bring my reel of trailers up for private screening, but have not heard wether he has access to a booth to run them in or not. For that matter have not even heard if I can meet him in person either. The mystery continues.

Now look what you have done Brad/Joe. People are really getting confused. Poor Evans who does so much and expects so little in return. Evans I won't be satisfied unless you ace this homework assignment. As you can see I am willing to wait your decision. I want you to know that I appreciate your "genius", no matter what comes out of Colorado and Texas. I also like what I see from William Parr. His post makes an awful lot of sense.

We have Brad and Joe talking to themselves? Which is kind of hard when you are one and the same person. Maybe they have more than two personalities, remember "All about Eve" I think she had five.

Maybe we should introduce Brad/Joe or JoeBrad to "Eve", I "Even" like that.

Now leave Evans alone until tomorrow. He needs and has earned his rest.

Before trying anything mathematical, I don't believe anyone on this forum has two aliases. Last summer, this occurred and was quickly nipped in the bud. If I had to bet money on the alias issue, I'd say there are no people with more than one username.

As for what Brad looks like, since I have practically no artistic talents, I dont' think I could draw a picture. I have long hair, but lack that artistic talent that most long-haired guys have.

The neat thing about the idea of aliases is it reminds us that on the net, one can never be too sure of who someone actually is. If someone can talk the talk, they can convince someone that they're almost anyone. Here on film-tech, this is more difficult because some members know other members personally, and many members have enough experience to know when someone is trying to "BS" their way through something. The fact that registration is required cuts down on nearly all of the people that would try to get in and pretend to be something they're not. The moderation on the site keeps junk from getting into the wrong areas too much and the members' reactions to ridiculous postings quickly discourages others.

Evans, Your supposed to be doing your home work.

It's funny that William Parr has "triple Dog dared" them to post Brad's picture. When Evans suggested that everyone draw a picture of Brad, the first thing that came to my mind was a picture of a cross between a cocker spaniel and a collie. Do you suppose that this is rooted in something factual that has been gleamed out of a posting??

I know that Joe is probably making a lot of mistakes trying to run his projectors because he know his time is short. He knows he will be found out. He is shaking in the very boots on his feet. His hair or what's left of it is turning grey. His face has aged and now contains deep crevises where a smile use to be.

Yes, it's true. Brad and Joe, Ian and Dwayne
are synonymous with each other.

My God! What if they are trying to take over Evans Personality. Remember "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" the one with Kevin McCarthy.

Evans, Please check your closet and your basement before you go to sleep tonight. If you see anything that looks like a seed pod...smash it and run for your life.

Joe is talented with a video camera and a MAC.

Brad is a geeky dweeb. Brad is 31 years old.
Brad is talented with chemicals and invented Film-Guard. Brad is also a sneaky bastard who edited my post so that you wouldn't know what he looks like. It's his meglomaniac complex.

Ian is a geeky dweeb. Ian is 38 years old.
Ian has no talent.

I know I'm supposed to be doing my homework. I have something that I think is right, but I keep going up the hall to the professor's office because I want to ask him if what I've done is right before I actually turn it in. His door has been ajar for nearly 3 hours, and he's nowhere to be found. It's very frustrating. Thank goodness my office is just right down the hall from his, and from the classroom where we meet.

To mathematically analyze people to see if they might be the same, I'd have to write a Perl program to go through and capture a good-sized sample of the text of the posters in question and do various statistics of various aspects of the text they generate. I don't know how difficult or easy this might be yet. It would definitely be an interesting little project, though.

This thread has really helped put some humor into a day that really needed it. The homework is in the final form to be turned in and I hope everything is right. The homework results might end up in a thread someday is the right topic comes up. At least now I know how to write and find a directional derivative again. In case anyone's curious, it had to do with removal of linear motion blur from an image. The technique was first published in 1972, I believe.

Honestly, I started this thread from an idea that just popped into my head late last Friday night. I'd seen several other "You know you're a <fill in the blank> junkie if..." lists and all at once, the idea of creating such a list entered my mind late one night as I was going to bed.

It was Friday, April 6 (late, after midnight). While sitting on my bed, I started writing the list on a notepad and wrote 15 things before I ran out of ideas. Before I went to bed and turned out the lights, I put the notepad next to my computer so that at some time during the next day, I'd login from my home computer and post them. I did so that night before some friends came over. I posted them at 6:45 then got offline soon afterwards and turned the computer off since I was going to show the "Charlie's Angels" DVD to some friends, and turning off the computer gets rid of another source of extraneous noise.

Nobody gave me the idea to post the list. I did it totally on my own. I figured that some items in the list might generate some humorous conversations, but I never dreamed it would go in some of the directions that it has. I find some of these directions extremely humorous.

Brad did not put me up to it. In fact, he had no idea that the list was going to be posted until I did it, because the list did not exist until late Friday night after midnight!

The list was a very quickly conceived thought. Creating the list took about 15 minutes at the most. Typing it in took about 10 minutes the next day. That's it. The rest is history.

Sean James from "Christie, Inc" is a good friend of mine. Ask him, he will tell you. Sean James and I served at different times in the United States Marine Corps, together.

Sean is , one hell of a smart, person. He will not be fooled by the rambelings of Denver Joe or Dallas Brad who are and forever will be the same person. You know, Joe you are not real, you are a "fig"(ment) of Brad's imagination and once you realize this you will go "Poof", you will cease to exist. Are you sure you want to continue? Could be your last chance. If I were you, I would think about it. Do yourself a favor...ask Sean, if you really, exist??? Joe from now on, you shall be called "Fig". So let it be written, so let it be done. ( Ten Commendments, Charlton Heston.)

Okay. Read this and weep, Bob!

I think I can, after a brief experiment, claim that Brad is definitely not Joe based on some postings that I captured and analyzed.

I did a search on Brad Miller within the past 30 days and captured all postings made on the first 10 threads that showed up on the search and did the same for Joe Redifer.

I ran a Perl script on the two people's collections of postings and here is what I found:

Of Brad Miller's words, 39.7 percent of his words are distinct. That means that if you take his total number of different words used and divide by the total number of words in the post (counting duplicates), you get 0.397. With Joe Redifer, the number is 32.5 percent. This means that Joe tends to use a slightly smaller set of words than Brad when he posts.

However, although Brad uses a larger set of words, Brad uses a smaller set more frequently than Joe. If you take the top ten words in Brad and Joe's set, Brad top 10 frequently used words comprise 24.4 percent of his total words while Joe's comprise 21.5 percent of his posts.

Here are Brad's top 10 frequently used words and their frequencies of occurrence:

7.21% the
2.73% to
2.53% of
2.21% a
2.14% and
1.88% in
1.69% i
1.36% was
1.36% on
1.30% as

As I said before, the above words comprsise 24.4% of Brad's posts. The numbers above may not add up to exactly 24.4 because of slight round off error.

Here is the same list for Joe Redifer:

4.15% the
2.87% to
2.52% i
2.33% a
1.94% is
1.90% and
1.67% of
1.67% that
1.40% it
1.12% they

As I said earlier, the above words comprise 21.5 percent of Joe Redifer's posts.

I think it is clearly obvious from these lists that the writing styles and use of language are significantly different. Their lists of top 10 frequently used words only have 6 words in common! Just look at the differences in how much they use "and"! One out of every 14 words from Brad is "and" while Joe only uses it one out of every 24 words. Brad uses "of" approximately 50 percent more often than Joe, while Joe uses "I" approximately 50 percent more than Brad. In fact, "to" and "a" are the only two words in their top 10s that they both use with nearly the same frequencies!

I think it is safe to say that Brad Miller and Joe Redifer are definitely NOT the same person according to this study.

More studies could be done on their writings, but after finding such differences after investigating this far, there is no need in continuing.

It was fun, though!

I knew Evans would come along and save the day mathematically!

Also, if Brad and I were the same person, I'd like to believe that Brad is a figment of my imagination and not the other way around!

Evans-- Interesting story about how you started this thread. Would you mind if I printed it out, framed it, and then hung it on my wall? I need your permission so that I do not violate any possible copyrights. If you want I can print it out in Geneva font or Helvetica (my computer can actually do BOTH fonts!)

Anyway, I have a new math problem for you, Evans. Figure this one out:

Why can't I just stick a DVD in the player and press PLAY and the movie starts... you know, like a LaserDisc? Instead I must wade through the menu (I hate the menu, especially animated, noisy ones). The menu should not pop up unless I press MENU. I don't know if there is a Perl script advanced enough to explain this.

Well, I was laying in bed, still awake, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, a horrifying thought entered my head at precisely 1:26 AM April 10, 2001. Joe, please tell me that your middle initial is not "V".

Jedi Fore_er (Jedi Fore'er)

Rearrange the letters. I just can't believe this.

Jedi, the reason you can't just press play when you stick a DVD in the player is the author of the disc has way too much control over the behavior of the disc. They determine how the disc reacts to user input at various points of access, which is why you can't skip FBI warnings on most discs and why you must use the menus to access functionality.

Sure, you can use the "You know you're a film-tech junkie if ..." in any way you wish. May the force be with you!

As y'all know, I wrote a public domain anagram generator, so my brain tends to take names and words and fiddle with them. I realized, out of nowhere, that "Joe Redifer" contains j, e, d, and i. My program dictionary does not have the word "Jedi" in it, so that combination did not get tried when I ran the program on Joe's name long ago. I immediately turned on the light above the bed, got a notepad, wrote "Joe Redifer", and extracted Jedi, and "Fore'er" was left. I originally thought the letters left spelled "forever" and I thought, "Oh God, I've been had! This is the best joke ever!", but that damn "v" is missing.

The writing styles of Brad Miller and Joe Redifer are very different, though. There is something incredibly mysterious going on here, though.

Indeed Evans has done it again! What an incredible display regarding word usage. Who knew that my posts utilized those ten words so often? Yes, only Evans could notice such minute details! Does anyone else find it odd that this post is so long, yet only one single time is one of my "favorite" words used? That's it...Evans is fake! He is just another me!

Evans, You have done an incredible job and to think that you did this when your own work was pressing. I stated that I would abide by your decision and now I truly believe that Brad and Joe are two separate
people.

However if Brad is Brad. Then Joe must be female.

The questions are:

Do you think she cut her hair for the picture?

Should we call her "Josephine"?

P.S. Joe should know that I wrote his name in New York on the subway walls.

The trouble with measuring attributes of a system is that it can change the very attributes you try to measure. There are two ways to measure a system:

1. Become part of the system in order to perform the measurements.

2. Observe the system from an external viewpoint.

Measuring a system nearly always affects the system, especially in the case where the measurer is part of the system. If people know their word frequencies might be analyzed, some people will change their word usage as a result. If average speed is being measured on a highway, the presence of a policeman with a radar gun for the purpose of measuring speed, not writing tickets, will cause people to slow down. A meter placed on an electrical circuit provides a very small resistance which changes the circuit characteristics every so slightly.

In this case, Brad posted a message purposely avoiding his most commonly used words.

Measuring from an external viewpoint, which is not possible for many systems, is more likely to not change the system. For example, observing traffic flow from atop a tall building in a city. In this case, external measurement would be like a lurker doing this analysys and never posting the results, or Brad secretly analyzing these attributes and never telling anyone. OF course, if people in the forums are interested in such stats, the "external viewpoint" method doesn't serve a purpose.

It's interesting. It would be fun to capture every single post made in the past on the FIlm Handler's forum and analyze everyone, but I'd have to learn how to submit the queries from a program and parse the returned pages. For that reason, I simply cut and pasted the ones I captured by hand for Brad and Joe. I chose the Film Handler's forum because it is the most active (most poasts) and people are more likely to be writing their own words rather than posting material written by other people, like often occurs in Film-Yak. For example, if I took Bob Maar's Film-Yak posts, the results would be meaningless because of the large number of jokes posted. You have to be careful to avoid sigs as well. If every post has a quote in it, that would skew the counts and quotes from other people's postings would need to be avoided as well. This is easy to avoid by hand, but doing it from a Perl program would be more difficult.

After class last night, I was glad to be done with that homework and wanted to do something fun other than study and so I went ahead and took samples and did the word frequency counts. There are many other attributes that could be checked, such as most frequent word pairs and word triples, as well as sentence construction attributes, and things such as words most frequently used to begin or end a sentence, number of words per sentence on the average, number or words per message, average number of letters per word, and so on. Text analysis is a very interesting kdkk3993k3222

Joe (Josephine) with your computer skills you could put hair on a baby's Heine and make it look real. No one by they way, has ever confirmed that that is really you in the picture posted. That picture could be a part of the grand scheme and the picture could be of Brad. As, a matter of fact, the picture probably is BRAD and you, really are a lady pretending to be a man. I think I caught your show. I will find out from our mutual friend Sean James when I speak with him. Next thing you know, you will be telling me your friends with Bevan, too. Have you Met Pat Moore, from Stong? I ask this because he knows me going back many years and he knows I only deal with the truth and have never, no never stretched it al all.

Now, please take this with, the tone that it is given. I don't want you to cry and spoil your make-up. Look in the mirror and say to yourself. "I am women, watch me grow, I got a long long way to go," you can sing the whole song if you wish.

Hmmmm, proving the Brad person doesn't use the same words as the Joe person doesn't mean they aren't the same person. Ever see "All About Eve?" Joe could be Brad's evil alter, or Brad could be Joe's alter. Ever met people who have alters? It is positively weird the way they can be totally different.

Maybe we are all just different channel speakers connected to one heck of a stereo system. Lessee, that would be techno-Jungian philosphy?

You're right, Jerry. Many people are capable of writing in diffferent styles and acting in different ways. Actors and actresses are good examples of this. I can write differently too. An example is in the spell checking thread that went on not long back. I wrote one post with intentionally bad grammar and misspelled words throughout. If I wrote half my posts that way, analyzing my word frequencies would not show my true writing style.

Simply throwing in some spurious garbage

and and and and and and and and and
or or or or or or or or or or or or

can make a big difference, too.

Ken, you say "I have 16..." Are you just saying that you have 16 screens, or have you actually done a 16 screen interlock there? The closest I know of to anyone meeting the 16 screen interlock was one reel through 14 screens at the local AMC 24 plex.

To keep people from having to flip back and forth so much, I'll repost a slightly modified version of the original list (from my original posting on April 8, 2001):

1. You check film-tech forums at least once an hour to see if any new posts have been made.

2. The Bob Maar's Joke-a-Thon forum has superceded all your other sources for jokes on the net. [That forum was originally a single thread in Film-Yak.]

12. Your web browser always knows your username and password for film-tech, so you never have to actually type it. [It originally said "Microsoft Internet Explorer" rather than "your web browser".]

[This was before pictures were used on the forums].

Let's see here...

1. Yep. I also sit in the chat room sometimes in case people are on the forums and are as lonely as I.

2. Haven't really read the Bob Maar forum yet in fear it will consume
every last ounce of time I have.

3. Don't really have any active sites up right now, but that's a good idea.

4. Haven't posted any reviews yet. I like every movie I see because movies are fun.

5. Everyone's booth is haunted.

6. Yep. Spelling, grammatical, and when I see I said the same thing three times in three different sentences.

7. Very true. But then I just surf over to drive-ins.com and check all the latest pictures, comments, and just browse in general for a few hours...

8. Right on! "If only I worked here..."

9. EXACTLY! Especially when people ask about Episode II. I explain that the focus was soft and they give me a blank stare.

10. ALL THE TIME! And when I am over someone's house, I begin calculating their living room into a screening room.

11. No way. Interlcoks scur me.

12. I never use the "remember my password" feature because I am afraid of the government posting under my name.

13. Yes, and "Film Done Wrong" for those that have poor presentation quality. Come to think of it, I saw a kid fall on a skateboard the other day and thought, "Skating Done Wrong"...

14. Sorry, not THAT good at spotting those things yet.

15. Even though he has a picture now, I still wonder...

I got a 9.5!

1. You check film-tech forums at least once an hour to see if any new posts have been made.

Well of course, doesn't everyone? (1)

2. The Bob Maar's Joke-a-Thon forum has superceded all your other sources for jokes on the net. [That forum was originally a single thread in Film-Yak.]

Bob is incredible, how in hell does he remember all these? Just 50 more pages to go (at this point). (1)

3. You put a link to film-tech on a WWW site that you run, not primarily to let your users know about it, but to provide a link so you can more easily get to it.

Me? Run a site? I am down to ten minutes to get on this one. (0)

4. You post a review of a movie on the movie review forum as soon as you get to a computer after leaving the movie theatre.

Hell, I never get to see a whole movie. (0)

5. You have no fear of condemnation by other members if you mention thinking that your booth is haunted.

Of course I have worked haunted booths (usually friendly). I am sure there are many more out there too. (1)

6. You edit every post 4 or 5 times after first submission to correct every spelling and grammatical error that you're aware of.

Only 4 or 5 times? (Takes me that many to spell my name wright). (1)

7. You get depressed if it is a slow day for film-tech postings.

Yeah, what the hell are the rest of you having fun at that I'm not? (1)

8. When you're sitting in a theatre, you notice every detail that is wrong with the presentation and auditorium environment and wish you could fix it.

Everytime, no matter how good the presentation is, I search all the harder for anything worng. (1)

9. When someone asks you how a movie was, you give details based on the quality of the presentation rather than of the movie contents or quality.

As a projectionist, I was never able to remember the movie I was playing at the time. (0)

10. Any time you're in any room in a building with a large amount of unused space, you calculate the maximum size screen that could be placed there and think of how the room could be turned into a theatre auditorium.

I rather imagine where the projection room(s) would be and on which side of the projector the platters would have to be. (1)

11. If your theatre has more than 16 screens, you are dying to interlock a movie through all of the projectors to top the 16-way interlock.

Bin there, done that. (not with nitrate yet, tho). (1)

12. Your web browser always knows your username and password for film-tech, so you never have to actually type it. ]

It would, if I would let it. (0)

13. You find yourself using the phrase "Film Done Right" to describe theatres with excellent presentation quality.

Of course.(Don't tell John tho, he gets pissed when i pay him the 5 bucks per time in Canadian money). (1)

14. After any movie, you know if sperical or anamorphic lenses were used, and know how many blades were in the shutter mechanism of the camera that filmed it.

Lenses, probably, blades no. (0)

15. You wonder what the moderator, Brad Miller, really looks like. [This was before pictures were used on the forums].

Actually I am wondering what Joe Redifer really looks like today. (.5)
