Interesting that DTS have changed their logo. 
Any Ideas why?

Perhaps because DTS is recognized enough now that the majority of people already know it is digital sound. There are also political reasons that involve Fidel Castro, JFK, and J. Edgar Hoover, but I am not legally allowed to explain those to you

DTS also makes an analog processor, but Joe is correct most of this is due to Fidel Castro's involvement.

Wow, I am amazed, I thought Canadians were the only ones that knew about the Castro involvement.Back in October '62, when missile launch bases were discovered on Cuban soil, just 90 miles from the coast of the continental United States, Kennedy set up a blockade of Russian ships.
For a while it looked like WW III might break out.
Realizing the need to immediately summon all U.S military personnel in the event this did happen, coded film-strips were assembled to warn those who might be watching a movie at the time.
It decoded:
D - damned
I- imperative.
G - go
I - immediate
T - trans
A - atlantic
L - launch.
S - send
O - out
U - U 2's (spy planes)
N - now
D - dammit
Hence the two types of dts strips.
Unfortunately, the project was shelved for a few decades when it was discovered that most theatres were mono.

Aside from more people recognizing the DTS brand name, the "digital sound" letters are also being dropped on a lot of ads because the Optima letter style used in the logo is often too small to print decently. It works on the movie trailer where the logo is seen at a huge size, but on a movie poster or TV commercial, or even the back of a DVD, it is just better to use the DTS letters by themselves.Fidel Castro, huh? I'd always wondered about mob ties via Jack Ruby myself.

Señor Castro me dice que, en el mundo del sonido digital, hay muchos que saben lo que quieren decir las letras D T S. Se puede establecer el nombre DTS como algo sinónimo con calidad, tal como THX. Todos conocemos las marcas registradas como Kleenex, Band-Aid y Vice Grips. Todos conocen el nombre Dolby también, pero es un nombre viejo que ha querido decir muchas cosas. Mientras tanto, el nombre DTS siempre ha querido decir sonido digital del cine (y el cine del hogar). Quizás, en el futuro, las personas van a hablar de DTS como hablan ahora de Band-Aid o Kleenex.También se dice que el Señor Castro no quiere comprar el disco de <<La guerra de las galaxias, Episodio uno: La amenaza fantasma>> hasta que haya uno con el sonido DTS-ES. A Castro le encanta Jar-Jar Binks.
