Oh well, what more can be said. Could all of our kind words have put an end to it? The article should have said.....Another couple of miserable Cineplex houses to bite the dust.

Century Plaza Cinemas To Be Demolished Next Year
Aug 28, 2001 9:43 AM EST
Once the crown jewel of the Plitt and then Cineplex Odeon circuits, the Century Plaza Cinemas will be demolished next year as part of a massive demolition and redevelopment project, according to the Los Angeles Times. The now multiplexed cinema is part of the ABC Entertainment Center, which also houses the Schubert Theatre.

After the Schubert's lease runs out next year, the massive complex will be razed and in its place, a new 15-story office building will be built. The once cavernous theater was split into four screens after it was sold by Plitt to Cineplex Odeon, which purchased the theater in the mid 1980s. Over the years, the theater was still used for numerous premieres and industry screenings, and is still owned by Cineplex Odeon's successor Loews Cineplex.
