I have a question, do anyone know how to get the THX Logo sound on the laptop, when I first got mine a few years ago a tech installed the Logo sound wave on start up of the laptop, we had since replace my laptop 3-times, I now have a Panasonic toughbook (maybe this one will last awhile), but it is cool to have the THX logo & sound appear at startup instead of the the windows startup wave....Do anyone know how I can get this sound on my laptop, & where do I find the sound wave, I already have the THX logo as wallpaper, be nice to had the sound to go with it...thanks

Hey Don, Long Time no hear from. Yourself, Leroy, My Self and My Brother did an install job down in Rockport, Tx 4 years or so ago. To install the sound logo you will need to download the wav file. Then go into the sounds properties menu in the control panel, find the start up sound file and replace it with the THX wav file. Lovely Picture of me Brad. Guess I should have included my own picture when I sent you the photo's of the UA cine 6 Friday eh?

I've got an MP3 of it that's encoded at 128k and is 456kb in size. Decoded to .wav, it's 4.91 MB. While it doesn't sound too good in an Imax theater, it should do okay through a PC's speakers. I usually use MusicMatch to quickly decode MP3s.

Here's a shot I took directly off of a 35mm "THX Broadway" print with my digital camera, resized for an 800 x 600 desktop.

What laptop supports resolutions that low? That image can use some cleaning up... the black isn't black everywhere it is supposed to be. And no I am not offering to fix it... I must be begged, ordered, bribed, etc.

Most laptops can not go any higher than that...at least laptops as of a couple of years ago seemed to be that way. Things have probably changed. If there is actually anyone who wants a version for a higher rez desktop, I'll shoot it and command Joe to touch it up.
