Who can tell me what projector (back view)this is.FREE double Ticket if YOU KNOW to either the "WESTSIDE Cinema" Henderson or the "CRYSTAL Palace" Mount EDEN (Home of the GONNAGET Projection System).

Sorry, but thats too easy. DP-70 for sure. Couldn't it have been the back end of a Kalee 20 or something else a bit more difficult. Unless one is familiar with the shutter drive on these they are much more difficult to tell apart.

Looks like an IREM power suply next to it.OK, then, what's the projector in the up-comming movie "Majestic" (it's shown briefly in the trailer.) It also lookes like the image is reversed because the operator seems to be standing on the wrong side.

The answer of course was too easy for you guys.
The mystery projector ,was the Philips DP70 on the floor of Plaza 1 Box after the cinema had closed ,photo taken 2 weeks ago. The back was removed to lessen the weight .
The projector is making it's way to Pictureville in Bradford (England)have a good day.

MarkThe DP70 is going to be installed in the main box at Pictureville and lined up for projecting 70mm on to the Cinerama curved screen. We will still retain the Vic 8 for projecting 35 & 70 0n the flat screen and the Cinerama prologue.
I am very impressed that the first pic of our "new" machine came via New Zealand !!

Hey, Thats great news. anyone that saves a DP-70 from oblivion deserves a medal of honor!! I still can't understand the reasoning for the Vic 8 in there though??? Overall, Really a much inferior machine.......not of the calibre or fame of the DP-70 league.....Mark @ GTS

I rescued a pair from the Riviera Theatre in Rochester before the city demolished it for back taxes. The projectors are in constant use in the 2000-seat Kodak "Theatre on the Ridge" for employee movies, filling a 24 x 57 foot screen. Unfortunately, only a handful of 70mm shows since they were installed, but they do a fine job with 35mm as well.
