Referencing the thread "no joke" in the Yak forum, I thought I'd chime in and say I think Scott has been doing a great job! This week marks the first time I've ever had someone else moderate the forums and unless there are things being deleted that I don't know about (which I highly doubt Scott would try and cover up), I couldn't be more pleased.Scott, your work is very much appreciated. The fact that you caught the thread in the Joke forum is pretty impressive, as Bob archives such an incredible amount of jokes there. Thank you for your efforts.
Joe, your humor and sarcasm are being wasted here this particular week. You really should've come to ShoWest and dished some of it out for Steve Guttag! Steve's a wacky fellow and serves up a pretty impressive buffet of his own. 
BTW, yes this forum can have the original thread deleted, but it's not a quick task and requires a bit of wasted time going in manually, so with that and in addition to the fact that if a thread is suddenly moved the topic originator generally thinks the server hiccuped and re-posts the topic, that's why I generally do not bother just like Scott did not.

For the record, the post about the amount of time it took Scott to find the post in the joke forum was posted totally for humor, and not for criticism (I even put a "huge grin" smiley at the end of it). Actually, I thought that Scott's moderation practices were extremely similar to Brad's. I noticed that participation was way down this week, so there wasn't as much to moderate since so many people were gone and weren't posting with normal frequency. Anyway, when someone takes over something, especially after being an integral part of the group for a long time, they tend to do things similarly to the way they've been done before, at least for a while. Even if Scott had taken over permanently, no major changes would be made for several months, since the psychology is "if the current system has worked well for a long time, why make major changes to it?"

Alllllllllllllllllrighty then, I'm back in Dallas and I've turned off the "Scott Norwood-The All-Powerful Moderator" sign. Don't let that fool ya though. Scott will still be assisting in the future when he sees something out of line, even though he is not listed in the moderator column and will not be making it a point to scan every new thread. (My laptop has a 600x800 screen and having two moderator names REALLY ran the forum index page off of the screen. Very annoying.) We've got a pretty good bunch of people here though and moderating is a fairly rare occurence. Perhaps the title should be changed to "Organizer" for moving threads and such.
