Paul, for Honolulu theater suggestions you might try reading some of Claude's posts over on the DCinemaZone forums. http://www.dcinemazone.com
Apparently many of Pacific's houses there use HPS-4000 speaker systems, with the Waikiki Twin and IMAX possibly being the best sounding screens on the Waikiki side.

Make sure you visit Hawaii Showtime. It lists every show in every theater on every island -- military theaters, too.

I found Hawaii Showtime on a Google search for something related to a different thread.

Paul...i think you mean the Waikiki 3. It was not owned by Pacific some years ago...I worked there a bit. Ownership may well have changed, but it is definitely a 3-plex.

Thanks for the info Claude Ayakawa & Alan Sakaida , I have been to the Signature 18 at the "Dole Cannery" complex to see " Lord of the Rings" as my Nephews had not seen this yet and I must say that the cinemas are much better laid out than what we are used to in New Zealand , with True Stadium Seating as opposed to Stepped Seating ,with a better view all round ,sound was good but the drop down scope was a bit disappointing (as it was not quite Wall to Wall) I have enjoyed my stay here and have visited the " Arizona memorial" and other of the sites of this Great Island State, you just have to visit the "Swap Meet" at the Stadium ,Aloha for now.
