My booth is humidity controlled at 55%. I also wear contact lens. The point you ask? The other day I was running the booth all day. I decided to go into auditorium mid show to check out sound quality. Remember I am in New Mexico a dry climate. I walked into the theater and was hit with a gust of dry air. This dry air coupled with massive pupil dialation in the dark house caused both of my contacts to pop out of my eyeballs immediately. What is funny is I put out both my hands, blind as I was and caught one contact in each hand before they hit the ground. What are the odds of that happening?

Haha! I can't wear my spectacles in the 3D glasses cleaning room. The humidity gets so high in there, just moving around fogs 'em right up.

Film is similar to your contact lenses --- very low humidity will dry out the gelatin emulsion, and cause excessive curl. Bravo on trying to maintain relative humidity between 50 and 60 percent RH.

Jan, you must have hard or gas-permeable lenses. I can't imagine a soft lens just spontaneously popping out like that. I wear gas-perms. Have never had them pop out like you describe, but have had 1 pop out on rare occasion like turning my eye a certain way.
