In the past, many have treated Memorial Day as a time to remember and give thanks to the soldiers who have fought and died for our nation. The events of 9-11-01 have changed that a bit. The thousands who perished at the World Trade Center, and even the loss of the buildings themselves, have to be considered. I prefer to remember New York with the towers standing as they did when I lived in the Big Apple. I wish they could be rebuilt.

I e-mailed Brad a photo I took of the WTC from the Staten Island Ferry in 1987 when I was a freshman in art school. At the time, I thought it was a decent photograph with another ferry lined up perfectly with the towers standing so high in the background. Now the image is kind of haunting, but at least I have it preserved on film.

That sure is a better picture than all the others of the WTC that have been published in the past six months. Thanks.
