Hello All,Does anyone know of any Architecture firms who specializes in movie theater / performing arts theater design? I've been having a heck of a time finding an architecture internship and thought that my experience & passions for film exhibition, coupled with my degree, would go a long way in a firm with this type of focus. I'm more than willing to relocate globally, so I don't want to limit this question to US Film-techers. Thanks.

Adam:One thing I can tell you NOT to do....and that is getting in contact with the person who designed your theatre.

Be sure to differentiate between live theatre & cinema.I have had no end of trouble with live theatre designers presuming the 2 are interchangable.

Paul: 10-4 on that one! Viewing windows should be close enough to the projector to focus AND see the screen?! What?! 
David: Acoustical Design is something that I'd love to get into, for both cinema and live. Thanks for pointing out the ambiguity in my first post.

Adam,
David Favel is correct. A gentleman named Arturo does the designing at ICECO. I am not sure if they would give you an internship, but it would be worth a phone call. Perhaps he could even give you some other leads. You could also just look into projects that are being built and dig to see who the architect is. For instance, I work at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. They are putting in a new addition that will include aperforming art space. The architecture firm is Herzog and De Meuron out of Switzerland. WWith higher profile jobs like that one, it is always easy to find out who is doing the design work. I would begin searching that way.
