Interesting. But questions, questions, questions.Who's the bald dude? And who exactly is the nemisis? I know the Romulans are in the movie, and I know their sheild (although a highly modified version) is the logo for the movie, but from watching the trailer they don't exactly look like the bad guys. And why did they change the sheild? Just to make it look cool for the movie? (I hate when they do stuff like that. Like, why did they change the uniform when First Contact was made?) Also, was that Lore???? And the trailer said "A Generation's Final Journey Begins" (or something very similar to that). Does this mean this is the last TNG movie?

Maybe they finally came to the realization that DS9 is infinitely better than all of the other Star Trek series put together, and they're gonna start making movies with those characters instead of the TNG guys. Of course, that would kinda destroy the entire point of DS9, so maybe they shouldn't do that. I know! Why not get Ira Steven Behr to take over, but still make TNG movies? That would be so cool! Which is, of course, exactly why they won't do that. But now I'm just rambling.

Generations (7) sucked, and First Contact (8) was one of the best. However, I thought of the three TNG movies, Insurrection (9) was the best.

I love 5. It was directed by the man himself. BTW, did anyone else notice how the beginning of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2 was a big rip-off of the beginning of STAR TREK 5? Everybody wants to be Shatner. Even Tom Cruise.

They should make a "Voyager" movie, and bring back everyone from the first season. Kes was always my favorite and could kick that borg lady's butt any day! As the series progressed, I also noticed Neelix's role reduced to just cameos. The show turned into nothing more than 7-of-9 malfunctioning and putting the crew in danger every episode. Oh, and bring back Janeway's hair style from Season 1 too. No matter how many times they had to "brace for impact" that bun never moved an inch!

Have you heard his cover of LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS? It's amazing. And then there's MR. TAMBOURINE MAN, where he just yells at the Tambourine Man. "Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man!" It's great.In all seriousness, I do think that the man's a genius. He is very good actor. I think that in recent years, he's become a wonderful comedian. And I have a lot of respect for his willingness to make fun of himself.

If you love William Shatner, check out a film called, "Free Enterprise". The bits with Bill Shatner are a total hoot. He plays himself, wanting to write, direct, and star in a one man broadway production of I CLAUDIUS.As for the new star trek film, little is known, but what is known is that the nemesis is that the new Romulan Emperor is (for reasons at this time not known) part Jean Luc Picard, a half clone. I have no idea how this works though. The new romulan leader makes good with the Reman empire and they combine to conqeour the federation once and for all (apparently).
And no that was not Jean Luc gettin jiggy, that was the new bad guy.
That was not lore, but rather a new version of Data, called B-9 (could be wrong on the designation though).
The basic synopsis is the Enterprise is called by star fleet to go to romulus and help with some odd thing and they get sucked into this whole takeover thing.
As for Insurection bieng the best? I am a true blue star trek fan, and that movie sucked my white behind. I fell asleep during the second screening of it. IT was just too cutesy for star trek.
FIve was cool, but had production problems from the start of it, so Bill Shatner did a pretty good job for a first timer with no resources to speak of.
Wrath of Kahn is always the best, you cant beat ricardo montalban for a bad guy.

I have here in front of me a record album (vinyl!) by William Shatner called "The Transformed Man". This album was supposed to be serious, and includes bizarre renditions of "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". Quoting from Bill's liner notes: "Now I've had some great thrills in my career... But the thrill I got from hearing this album all the way through was deeper and more satisfying than anything I had ever experienced." 
Rhino Records put out a CD called "Golden Throats", a compilation of "songs" recorded by various actors, including Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. If you can find it, it's pretty funny. It includes the above-referenced tunes by Shatner. But you haven't heard anything until you hear Leonard Nimoy belt out "If I Had A Hammer" and "Proud Mary".

Anywho, gettin back to Nemesis, is that bald guy the Romulan emperor? I suppose if he's a half clone (how can you be a half clone??) of Picard, that would explain why his ears aren't pointy, which is why I thought that the Romulans are not the bad guys in this movie.

Yes, Shatner raps in FREE ENTERPRISE. Dave is right. It's a great movie, and anyone who is unaware of Shatner's brilliance should definitely watch it, and all will become clear. The original screenplay for that film had Shatner as a God-like figure who appears at key moments in the main character's lives to give them much needed advice. Shatner did not approve of portraying himself as a God, and requested that the script be rewritten so that he would be a womanizing drunk. It was, and the result is one of the many masterpieces that came out of 1999. As for the rapping, well, the musical which Shatner is trying to make in the film is actually JULIUS CAESAR, not I CLAUDIUS, and the rap is a piece called NO TEARS FOR CAESAR which is listed in the credits as being performed by The Rated R (who worked with Tupac) and The Artist Formerly Known As Shatner.

it's been nearly a year now since I have seen it. Got the I CLUADIUS thing wrong, but still the same, funny stuff.
That is the romulan emperor with Troi actually, during an invasive dream sequence (apparently). How he is a half clone, dunno. Its star trek, you can do anything with star trek.

There is a new trailer out this weekend with the Four Feathers for this film, and I watched it tonight on UPN during the TWILIGHT ZONE premier.This trailer definately shows that this movie will be worth watching. It was very impressive.
