Hi all

I recently visited Buddy's Drive-in site and came across some curious photos:
http://www.drive-insdownunder.com.au/australian/vic_dandenong.htm

Of course this is the great news that the Dandenong Drive-in theatre is due to reopen after a 18 years hiatus. Dandenong will be the second new drive-in to open this year in Melbourne.

However I was intrigued by the photos on the site of former patrons of the Dandenong Drive-in in years gone by. We drive-in archeologists don't miss much.

Look carefully at the two photos of (1) the crowd inside the snack bar, and (2) the children playing on the swings. Now surf over to Buddy's Bulleen site:
http://www.drive-insdownunder.com.au/australian/vic_bulleen.htm

and have a look at the photos there.

Notice a resemblance? Yes they are exactly the same photos!

Perhaps the children and patrons frequented both drive-in theatres?

cheers Peter

Wow! Love that photo of the projectionists in the second set.
Work clothes and ties in the booth. Haven't seen that happen in years.
That was fun.
