Hi everyone, Recently I have gotten the opportunity (Thanks to the Boston Film Festival held at the Loews Cineplex Copley Place) to run a few new kinds (new to me atleast) of projectors. I am used to the standars Simplex or Century type projector but recently I got to run some Kinotons, and Vic 5's. I am very impressed. The threading pattern is different but i figured it out in about 5 seconds. I also got to run 16mm on a Kinoton 35/16 (I dont remeber the midel # but the op side is 35 and non op side is 16)I really like these type of machines and hope that I get to work with them in the future.On a side note I dont know if anyone here is Famaliar with the Loews Copley Place. This theatre has an amazing booth (to me atleast) they have every bell and wistle 1.33, 1.66, 1.85, and 2.35 lenses for all 11 screens. Fully adjustable masking and 16mm capability on 2 screens! I have been having a blast and the film festival is going extremely well. The organizers told me that this year has been the smoothest year in 17 years! oh well now back tp the drudgery of my own theatre and my wonderful 5 deck Xetron platters!

Judging by the schedule for Copley Place, you probably got some of your prints directly from me at the Providence film festival. Most of them should have been in great shape (with the notable exception of "Bark" (I'm pretty sure I had to add cue marks to that one). If it looks like the print was run reel-to-reel and the head and tail leaders of each reel are labelled with blue ink on white artist tape (with my lousy handwriting), then it almost certainly came from Providence.
