I am spending this Christmas moving out of my apartment and in to my sisters house so I can rest up for reconstructive foot surgery next year (no stairs at my sisters place).

I am living my own version of the Christmas Carol, complete with Tiny Tim (me), an employer who wont let thier employees off for christmas (my fiances employer, a home builder), Mr. Scrooge (someone I cannot name because he is going to be a defendant in a series of lawsuits regarding my foot), the ghost of christmas present (some fat guy that keeps laughing at me when I hobble to my car), and the sheriff of Nottingham.

Ok so the sheriff of nottingham isn't in A Christmas Carol, but he should have been. Would have made things really neet!

Merry Christmas from the mouth of Dave. Even in this time of love and caring and giving, I still give a lot of loving care in the cynical tirades I partake in.

My very best wishes to all, especially those working this Christmas and New Year's, for a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year.

I was born on Christmas (at home of course, since my mother wasn't sick), and the doctor attending came in a tuxedo from a holiday party.

My wife wanted to surprise me with a Kodak digital birthday camera (so I can photograph our two Siamese cats and all my precious "junk" to sell on eBay to give her lebensraum at home.) But it was out of stock and she cancelled the order so now I have to choose a model from Amazon. I'm terrible when it comes to making a final choice from so many models!

I am glad we closed today, it has been snowing / sleeting since about 8PM, roads are completly snowcovered with a nice caoting of ice underneath now (it is 5:30 AM, time to make the bread dough! [Roll Eyes]

Merry Christmas to all. We have a half inch of new fallen snow and expect a "changeover" to rain and back to snow late in the day here. We expect a lot of people here at the theatre. Being because we are the only thing that will be open here beside 7-11's and gas stations and people have these gift certificates to use. [Big Grin]

Here I am at work this Christmas Day. I hope that many people come to the show today.

Traffic was more than I was expecting this morning. I must have gone to work during the church hour. I like it when it feels like you are the only one alive.

I'm afraid that dinner will be a poor affair due to the fact that I neglected to do any grocery shopping yesterday. But I am doing a dinner for the boys tomorrow that will be something to look forward to.

Now I must go downstairs and greet all of my moviegoers.

We had 205 people and $1.89 percap so I guess it was worth opening today. The competition is dropping the first and last show today, by that I mean the 11:00 AM and 11:00 PM shows.

It wasn't super-slammin' busy, but the parking lot was far from empty (and no one else in the same 'mall' - except for maybe the bar, bothered to open today)... When I left, the snow was pounding down pretty hard.
Yes, people were rash enough to still be showing up to see movies in a freaking blizzard! What should have been a 25 minute drive from work to my folks' house took me nearly an hour! >_<

But hey - it is a White Christmas at least! ^_^

Hope that everyone had reason to smile at least once today!

We had a very nice crowd tonight, at least 5X better than the typical Wednesday, so definitely worth being open. (We were closed Christmas Eve.)

You said it Scott! I love our "Nor'easter" storms though. I really do wish I was alive in 1978 when we had that wonderful blizzard. It looks to have just about stopped now and really didn't start picking up here until about 4pm I think. By the looks of it we got (Beverly) about 6-8", at least judging from my fire escape. By looking outside I just completely fell in love with my landlord again, realizing I have no shoveling or salting to do. [Smile]

So Gracia, did it end up being a blizzard up there? I know there was a warning, and you guys usually get worse than we do.

Well, we got about a foot and a half of the white stuff dumped on us! Whee!

While I was alive in '78, I don't recall the blizzard - I was an infant! ...I do however remember in '83 the winter brought enough snow such that it was as deep as I was tall! That is to say when I was walking in paths my dad had shoveled you could only see the top of my hood from my snowsuit - and somewhere my parents still have pictures to prove it!

As for this round of snow - I am quite glad that my car is all wheel drive! [Cool]

Christmas Eve was quiet, with the family together exchanging presents. Then "Midnight" Mass (actually 10:00pm) in our 100-year old small-town church. Christmas morning we awoke to about a foot of snow on the ground, and more large "lake effect" flakes slowly falling. Was like something out of Robert Frost or Currier and Ives. [Smile]

Christmas dinner plans were postponed until Sunday, since relatives couldn't safely drive from the Buffalo area. Yesterday, after digging out, my daughters got out to see "Catch Me If You Can" while I caught up on e-mail.

I hope the year ahead is kind to all of us, with peace and harmony based on respect for one another, recognizing our common humanity, while cherishing our differences. [Smile]
