I heard the hype and thought , OK it may be a cute lil cover. But the video which you can view on the rollingstone.com site
simply blew me away. I can't imagine anyone not moved by this video. Simply the most moving video I have seen in recent years.
A must see.

I like Nine Inch Nails and this cover was actually even better than the original. Great writing by Trent reznor though.

Thank you for the link. That is an amazing video. I love the original version of that song, and I love Johnny Cash. I have heard the cover several times and loved it, but the video gives it so much meaning. It's both touching and sad. It's great to see the clips of Johnny over the years, but sad in the context of the song and seeing how much the Parkinson's has progressed. It is a very moving video.

I love that song, but there are just a few parts in the video that seemed just a little too "film school" for me. There are times where it seems like it's trying just a little *too* hard to make the whole song really symbolic and sad, which the song does just fine standing on it's own accord. Still one of the best videos I've ever seen though. All of the older footage is amazing. Just goes to prove once again that even after almost 5 decades of making music, he can still knock 'em dead.

I heard the song and didn't really like how slow it was, also not a big NIN fan, but the video is perfect. I think to understand the song you need the video.

Johnny Cash also did a cover of "Social Distortion - Ball and Chain". Social did " Ring of Fire". I like Cash's version of Ball and Chain better that Socials.

It seems that Johnny Cash is better at covers than the orginal artists. [Big Grin]
