I had sushi for lunch today. Five different kinds of raw fish. There was tuna, salmon, some kind of whitefish I can't remember, and a couple other unidentified varieties. With seaweed wrap. MMmmm... Raw, slimy fish. [Wink]

You and me both Josh. I was sick for a few days after ShoWest too, but it's finally leaving (slowly). How much do you want to bet it was that waitress at your hotel who was sick that served us our food Thursday afternoon?

Waitpersons and other foodhandlers who are obviously sick on the job should be BANNED!! I HATE IT when someone handling my food is hacking up lung butter. A couple weeks ago I was at Wendys and the girl putting my order together was coughing all over it. I threw the whole thing in the trash and went somewhere else. It's not worth saving $3 to risk getting sick. [Big Grin]

I agree about the waiters/waitresses. That has been a major source of illness for me too before. It REALLY annoys me when they sneeze on my food. I think the restaurants should not let them work when they are ill.

It has lessened to the point where I can run practice again, although very bundled up. I still wont go near the icing bath though. [Wink]

Assuming there wasn't a rash of people who attended the Film-Tech Drink that got sick, that lunch visit was probably the cause. That's the only other place where everyone was together. Anyone know how Kat fared?

Same goes for concessionaires at theaters! I don't know how many times I've walked up to a concession stand to be greeted by some sniffling, sneezing, coughing teenage kid rubbing their nose in their sleeve every thirty seconds. [puke]

I had a friend that worked in a restaurant once who tried to call in sick, and they told him he HAD to come in NO MATTER WHAT since no one could cover for him. I wonder how many people got sick at THAT place that night. [Roll Eyes]

I thought rapid cooling down was bad for you after heavy exertion or running. I thought a slow cool down and stretching was the way to go to keep all those toxins from causing problems.

I developed a mild cold after my December visit to Vegas. It was the return to humidity after a week in the cool (very) dry air that did me in.

An icing bath is a fetish thing where you take a dip in a vat of cake topping and someone else licks you clean. [Smile]

Dave, my partner in crime (doing maintenance at the Palms) also came down with something after working the projection booth in the Paris showroom. I didn't attend ShoWest but came down with something that week too. Some sorta bug must be making the rounds here.

An icing bath (contrary to the fetish meaning [Smile]

) is used to help slow the flow of blood, thus reducing swelling, and aid in the removal of lactic acid, which caused stiffness and soreness. The only drawback is that cold blood coming back up from the legs can do strange things to the parts. [Wink]

Fortunately, I survived ShoWest and the Film-Tech drink with no ill effects. Had food from all the ShoWest events, and at the Film-Tech drink.

Recall last year, quite a few people who attended the Academy Sci-Tech Awards in Hollywood were quite ill the following week at ShoWest, evidently with a variation of the Norwalk Virus:

3 out of the 4 of us from RTS came down ill either late in the week or upon returning home. I'm finally starting to feel a bit better today. We did not attend anything other than the trade show, must of been something going around.

I think we came down with a strep of some sort. Lately, I have read about some of these strep infections becoming antibiotic resistant. If I recall correctly, there is a "new one" that has poped up recently. It would not suprise me that this is what hit us at ShoWest.

I ate a lot of seafood in Vegas, and I did not get ill at all.
Probably because I had steeled my system with a few of the drinks that Bob had mixed. One question remains: were those big gin and whiskey bottles actually made from plastic?

I, my wife and quite a few of my staff memebers have become sick as well. Some thing is hitting Vegas pretty hard right now. Last night after the inventory and build up, I went home with a fever of 101. Today, my stomach is having an argument with some of the other internal organs. The noises I am hearing in not encouraging. [puke]

Hopefully I will feel better when i go in tonight. It looks like an office night tonight...

I noticed a couple of hefty snorts of brandy, votka and rum helped my sore throat. However, I didn't know if I was coming or going... [Smile]
