Gordon Bell hasn't replied to my emails for many months, and hasn't answered letters from Robert Sprague for more than a year.
I can no longer find him listed by searching Film-tech.
It was Gordon's illustrated reports of his years as projectionist on Cunard/White Star ocean liners, which I found on Film-tech by searching the Net for "Brenkert" that enabled me to discover this valuable website.
Gordon was based in Los Angeles, was a Union Business Manager for the projectionists local, and frequently visited Catalina Island, where Brenkert projectors were still used.
Has anyone any information about his whereabouts or state of health?

Gerard

Gerard,

Gordon (or Harry as we call him, his middle name I think?) is alive and well. He stops by regularly at the theatre I work near Long Beach (an old single-screen house, the Bay). I've tried to get him to post here more often, as he'd have much to contribute, but he's always managed to make an excuse. [Wink]

I think he recently mentioned he was having trouble keeping up with the forums, so that may explain why he hasn't replied.

Christopher,
Thanks for reassuring me Gordon is alive and well. Please
give him my best wishes when you see him.

Daryl,
Thanks for your help. Search is very exacting--I couldn't find Gordon because I didn't enter his middle initial.

Gerard
