I think I have managed to get everyone's member pictures online who has sent them in, but I could have easily mis-coded something along the way. (There were a lot of new registrations and member pictures to process tonight.) If you sent in a picture of yourself and it doesn't appear beside your posts, please drop me an email so I can fix it. Hello Paul,

That is a great portrait of you and the lighting is perfect and is similar to my style. I like it! Just crop off some image area from the left and the right ands use it as your official film tech image, It is much better than the one you are using now.

I have the impression you had only visited the 'Fitness' page at my website and not the others. Fitness images are only a small segment of my business and if you had taken the time view all of the pages at my site, this would have been very obvious to you. When I said 'style' ,I meant the lighting that was used on Paul's portrait.

I also hope to go visit Claude next summer when I go to Hawaii.... that is in the U.S. isn't it? But I will let Michael know when I find it so he knows how to get there too. I think Paul is also comming to the States again next year. Last time he came within 1000 feet of my house and didn't stop in..... [Embarrassed]

Michael & Mark,

That is great if you can both come to Hawaii because I would love to meet you. I do not travel as often as I used to because of my mother's condition. Now that she is in a nursing home, I was able to accept an invitation to be on a professional photographic exhibition judging panel at Rye New York, but that is not until early April of next year. Mark, I do not know if I can go to the big island with you to photograph Kilauea volcano but we can hang loose on Oahu and a take a lot of great pictures on my island. If the Honolulu Symphony season is on when you come Michael, perhaps we can catch a concert. We do have a very fine orchestra and I know you will be impressed.

Claude and Mark I'm coming back your way in Dec 2004 ..... I know coming from our Summer to Utah's Winter Start , so looking forward to my first White Christmas , Hopefully I can stop off on the way back from the Main Land to Hawaii ... we will be in the USA for about 1 month maybe more , will be staying in CAL and Las Vegas and in Salt Lake also Ogden , will try to see as many Techies as possible . Hello Per,

Thank you for the nice complements about my wedding photography. I thought about you the other day when I watched the DVD of the recent Paramount film "THE PRINCE AND ME", about the crown prince of Denmark falling in love with an American girl from Wisconsin. It was really neat how they made scenes shot in Prague look like the interior of the royal palace in Copenhagen. It was a very light hearted love sory and I enjoyed it very much.

I also like your new picture, Per.

The Prince an I premiered in Denmark just after Our Crownprince married his imported tasmanian beauty in may this year. Even with this smart timing, the distributor obviously did not trust, they had a good case at all: Only very few prints, and video release just two months later (normal here is 6) - announced before the very cinema premiere. I did not run it in my theatre, and haven't seen it yet, but I've got a single VHS and DVD in my rental shop, -both out every day ! After what I've heard, it's quite sweet and entertaining, but very far from the real love story between Frederik and his Princess Mary, who is so beautiful, that it hurts ! It seems, mainly teen girls rent the movie, and elderly danes are a bit offended, it was made at all. -My own mother (82, and very big fan of the royal family) just looked at the cover and said: -The don't even look alike - I won't see it !!

When CLaude has taken Your new photo,and You've got out af that wedding gear, would You please give me a hint out of that big box of experince, You've got about the FP30 (or anybody, please - no bridal costume needed)
The projector is now a little over a year, and has been running aprox. 3 shows every day. Can it be true, I've allready first turned over, and now changed pressure bands. (well: I did - but is it normal ?) And even after this, I'm about to reach a picture steadiness (horisontal and vertical) about a little bit worse than the old Shaker from Milano, I scrapped last year. What have I not been giving the right attention this first year ? I am aware of the manuals words: adjust the spade until perfect position. - But what is perfect position for this thing - And can the spade be worn allready too, so that my problem will be solved by changing it ?
I'm a bit embarrased with not being able to look through a problem like this after more than thirty years of running films (and would rather not admit it to my nice german tech) but, damned - those 44 year old DP70's in my other screen never ask for spares - or adjustments, for that sake. They just run ! -And after a short while of "getting used to", the Fp30 and I are the best of friends, except for this matter... Rock 'n Roll ! [Roll Eyes]

Was it you who visited me at the Orpheum on Sat Aug 28 ?
All this discussion about your FT picture has me thinking.

I got a call on two-way that there was a 'tech' (I always put TECH in quotes) from New Zealand who would like a look around.

You or this 'person' said they had seen the cinema on the internet and that it would be cool to visit, since it was arthouse, voted best cinema in Australia 2004 and had 70mm.

If it was YOU, you KNOW there was a stuff-up as the main curtain in C#5 motor broke the night before.

I said, pretend the main curtain is going UP now during the overture, now the picture will hit and the silks will rise. Well they did'nt OPEN did they.
We (You and I) cycled the c/b a few times and pressing OPEN, and finally they opened (I had visions of hand cranking behind the screen -and you would have been helping!)

The circuit breaker got replaced a few hours later, that fixed the silks, but I have not been back on shift there to know what was wrong with main curtain.

It was very unprofessional and embrassing.
If it was not you, disregard this post, and everyone else should too.
