Bob, I happen to be 39 years old now, and only 1 year away from semi-geezerism. How I managed to snag a nice young pup like Rachel I will never know! I am happy to report that her hubby landed here safely the other night, but do to confusing directions, provided by do-gooders on film-tech, he accidentally ended up in Illinois. The fibbers immediately put him on a plane and shipped him back to a less-flat area. So he is back at the drawing board again! The proper way to find where I live it to go to Milwaukee, get on the interstate and drive North until you smell a mixture of bullshit and fish odor - then turn right! Hope that helps!! [Smile]

Somehow I doubt you are ever going to "see" what made Rachel want to leave her Hamsters!! <evil grin> She didn't really want to leave them, but they trauma of that long of a trip most likely would have done them in, and I would prefer not to have to be the one responsible for traumatizing the little buggers....

We ARE bringing the kitty though. It will be cool to see how a Kitty, a Ferret and a Cockatoo all get along together!! I think we will be one big happy family.

The Rachel and the Donna will be fine. On the other hand the Kitty will be in for massive culture shock, moving from a world class metropolitan area to um...well...a state where

the favorite salve is Udder Balm (and for good reason)
it's necessary for the electric utilities to put a DO NOT CLIMB sign on every single pole
the principle passtimes are beer, bowling and brats.

That's it...Kitty has decided not to go.

Kitty is an indoor kitty so her biggest shock will be if she sneaks out of the apartment and enters the doorway to her right while finding a whole new world in the Civic Centers very large auditorium (yes, Donna's 2nd living room is a double balcony auditorium)...but that would make Donna very upset and probably get her/him in big trouble if little kitty decides to escape during a show...and if little kitty gets big bad Donna upset--all hell breaks loose!

But really, I am worried about her and the bird...anyone have any advice on how to introduce them to each other? [Big Grin]

Well, having given this a great deal of intensive thought I would say you should start her with some baby chicks, then maybe a few sparrows, perhaps some robins, parakeets, etc. and after she has devoured all of these then parrots, and so forth til she works her way up to the cockatoo. Save us some feathers.

Donna is convinced that the bird is going to have a hell of a time dropping bombs on the cat every time she walks underneath the cage...

Maybe I should stop calling him Donna...all I need is an argument before the 20 hour car ride...He's a MAN, really, HE IS! [Big Grin]

Ok, Ok..... So, I used to get a Brunschweiger Sandwich at the German Bar in Two Rivers when I was up there........ Well, the good stuff imported from Germany was REALLY GOOD! Normally the exhaust fans in any of the booths could keep up with me......., except for perhaps theatre 2.......its a bit tight in there.

So Don.....is that German bar still there? Ya have to take Rachel there for a beer and a Jaegermeister [beer]

! They had really good award winning Ocktoberfest Beer too........ Ah....A beer, a Jaegermeister, and a good Brunschweiger Sandwich...... what a great combo....BURP, and then a dark corner with a platter to snooze under....... [sleep]

Rachel, I think you should do your cat a favor and pluck all the feathers off of the bird. Take off the bird's head and baste it's little body. Stuff the bird with cat-nip. Bake in oven for 30 minutes, garnish with some cilantro and radish mix. Serve with a white wine sauce.

If the cat doesn't want the bird. Stuff the cat and I'll eat that. [Big Grin]

Hey Bill, I know it is cheesy, but I have to tell you that one of my best friends in the world was Ron Gabel. He hailed from Illinois, and was originally named "Jeffrey", but they changed their name in honor of his stepfather. We did a lot of things togethe including the vast majority of my photography. I'm sure you're no relation, but just wanted to point out I knew another "film handler" named "Gabel"!
