I would just like to congratulate Rachel and Don on bieng (as far as I know) the first couple to meet here through Film-Tech. Rachel is one of my best friends and I wish her all the luck in the world on her new life with Don in Manitowac. She leaves the east coast on friday! GOOD LUCK!! I will miss you!

Um I was under the impression that Rachel was married?

Posted by Steve Kraus (Member # 476) on 06-19-2003, 08:10 AM:

Correct. Rachel was married. But she's given it up for a life on the road, visiting each...um...member...for a few weeks each spreading happiness along the way.

Now then, what route to visit all Film-Techers most efficiently?

Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 06-19-2003, 10:31 AM:

I am divorced Joe. It seems as if everyone here likes talking about my personal life!!! [Roll Eyes] Trust me, its not that interesting... [sleep]

Posted by Scott D. Neff (Member # 185) on 06-19-2003, 10:44 AM:

Let's talk about Joe's instead. [sleep]

When are you visiting me Rachel?

Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 06-19-2003, 04:58 PM:

I'll be there in a couple days Brad, I'm already driving half way across the country tomorrow so I'll just make a big loop and stop in Texas first. [Big Grin]

Posted by Bobby Henderson (Member # 840) on 06-19-2003, 06:31 PM:

Rachel, do you know how to two step, waltz and shuffle (or care to learn)? Here in Oklahoma you pretty much have to learn how to do that for any social activity unless you want to hang out with meth addicts! [puke]

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 06-19-2003, 07:31 PM:

Mmmmmmmm meth addicts!

Posted by Phil Hill (Member # 371) on 06-19-2003, 07:54 PM:

Rach, don't forget to visit me. As long as you said you were a swinger, just swing by Hollywood. We can make good.... Ummmm, music together! [evil]

OBTW: I like talking about ***YOUR*** personal life on here.... [Big Grin]

Yessssss. Rachael's life. Interesting.

Swing by Western NC, and I'll show you how dull things are! [Smile]

Best of luck with your impending move.

Hey Rach!

Your new picture makes you look like a Star Trek chick!

Give you a uniform and a phaser gun... WATCH OUT BABY! [Big Grin]

Hmm...Let's see here...The First Film-Tech Couple...

I guess this makes Rachel the First Lady of Film-Tech.

and, Don...guess what?

That makes YOU the freakin' PRESIDENT!!!

Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 06-21-2003, 08:31 PM:

Phil or Manny can be Monica... [Smile]

Oh, just so everyone knows, I'm now moved out to Manitowoc...just got here after a 25 hour car trip...first thing I did was check film-tech! [Eek!] Wow, I'm sad... [eyes]

Posted by Per Hauberg (Member # 529) on 06-21-2003, 09:03 PM:

Watch out for the cigars !

Poor little sad girl - and 25 hours instead of the planned 22. Was that because of all those invitations from the FilmTech Boys on Your way...?

Did the pussycat survive ?

Are You sad, because there has been so little covering of the journey on FilmTech, or by discovering Manitowoc, or by meeting Your webfriend up there life ?

Now have a good life out there !!

May your kids be smart and your pockets be silver lined.

I wonder who will be the next film tech couple?

Maybe we could catch a movie... heh

Posted by Michael Schaffer (Member # 1204) on 06-23-2003, 02:51 PM:

Actually I understand the first film-tech couple was Adam Martin and Scott Neff.

Posted by Brad Miller (Member # 2) on 06-23-2003, 03:04 PM:

I don't think Adam or anyone in California has a chance at Scott. There aren't any Chick-Fil-A restaurants there to keep Scott happy. Scott will ultimately find someone who works at a CFA to spend the rest of his life with. [Big Grin]

Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 06-23-2003, 06:23 PM:

You can't forget Brad and Phil...the newest happy couple. [Smile] Sorry Brad, I know no one was supposed to know but... [Wink]

Nah, Phil left me to court your hamster Sprocket. The only problem is Bob keeps trying to eat Sprocket! [Wink]

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 06-23-2003, 06:39 PM:

Actually the first couple would have been Erika Hellgren and myself, but we didn't meet on the site. But we were some of the first members so that makes us the first! Of course we are no longer dating but the title should still go to us, and I should receive a $1,000,000 prize. [Smile]

Posted by Steve Kraus (Member # 476) on 06-23-2003, 09:51 PM:

What does it tell us that you scared her away, even off the site!?

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 06-23-2003, 10:59 PM:

Indeed. [Smile]

Posted by Michael Schaffer (Member # 1204) on 06-24-2003, 03:23 AM:

Who is Erika Hellgren?

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 06-24-2003, 04:28 AM:

Who knows? Do a search.

Posted by Michael Schaffer (Member # 1204) on 06-24-2003, 04:59 AM:

I did. apparently Erika has had a sex change and is now known as - yes, Phil Hill. Shocking, but true.

Posted by Per Hauberg (Member # 529) on 06-24-2003, 05:42 AM:

And Erika got scared by that finger of Joe's, while Phil was attracted by it.

But Brad...that doesn't make any sense...Sprocket died over 6 months ago. At least Phil could tell you the true reason he dumped your butt!!!

Erika Hellgren is hot! Whatever happened to her?

Posted by Don Bruechert (Member # 1538) on 06-24-2003, 12:57 PM:

So, Joe.... If you wish to have the title of the first couple to meet thru film-tech we need to know... Did you actually ever "Meet" in person, and, if so, did you actually "Couple"? Inguiring minds want to know!!

Posted by Gordon McLeod (Member # 33) on 06-24-2003, 01:04 PM:

Actually it was probably Joe's pointing finger that scarred her off

I never said we met through Film-Tech. I just want a $1,000,000 prize, that's all. Is that too much to ask?

We were together for 5 or 6 years or something like that.

Posted by Darryl Spicer (Member # 711) on 06-24-2003, 07:14 PM:

I bet it all ended when she went to Joe complaining about her cd player not working and Joe took it apart and used the cure all WD-40 to fix it. [Smile]

Actually, there is a Chick-fil-A in Fairfield, just off of I-80, which is the freeway between Scott's house and mine. [Razz] It's the only one for 200 miles.

But he won't date me because I don't particularly care for Chick-fil-A nuggets.

Only if you're related. [Wink]

And Joe doesn't exist. I went to Denver and was not able to find him. He's just a program running on the Film-Tech server.

Yes, his real name is Cyber-Joe Phiggidy Phat 2000, ver. 1.0

Posted by Bob Maar (Member # 763) on 06-25-2003, 03:52 PM:

Cyber-Joe Phiggidy Phat 2000, ver. 1.0 is a figment of Brad's imagination who will be blamed when the site goes down.

Oddly enough Cyber-Joe will also be blamed for the down-fall of mankind.

OK that does it! The next time you can't access Film-Tech or it is EXTREMELY slow, it is because I am punishing you! And I am version 2.3, not 1.0!

Whatever the version - look out for the finger, if The Phiggidy Phat system allows for 3D. Cyber-Viagra will be really dangerous, then !

I still say that picture of Joe and his Finger was taking by either Stuart Blair or Dennis Daniels of UATC when Joe was ripping the both of them for their stupidity in sinking millions into the Starport idea. [Wink]

Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 06-25-2003, 07:49 PM:

Joe needs an upgrade, they just released ver 2.4! No wonder he's so slow...

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 06-25-2003, 08:01 PM:

Stuart Blair called me once, wondering something or another. I had no clue what he said because of his horrible thick Scottish accent. He also sounded drunk on top of that. No way was I going to decipher what he was saying. So I just said "OK no problem!" and apperently that was good enough. True story! For those who don't know, Stuart Blair was one time president or CEO or something like that of UA.

PS - Starport was stupid. I still get giddy when I think of the expensive theater they opened with it. The entire theater closed down about a year or so later. Starport closed down 6 months earlier.

ok, what's starport? i could do a search for it but i'd rather help this topic drift off in a new direction.

I did a search... still don't know what it is but it might be a combination arcade and cinema?

This logo for what seems to be a cellular network looks like CRAP-MOPR in russian though. That's cool.

Posted by Ian Price (Member # 14) on 06-26-2003, 01:38 PM:

Starport was an idea to have a really hip Sega game room attached to a movie theatre where all the games cost $2 to play. We also had a virtual reality simulator and a motion film system. Once you had played one game, ridden on motion film ride and screwed up you eyes wearing virtual reality goggles, most people felt no desire to return.

So Joe, did they ever remodel the Dark Meadows space?

Posted by Joe Redifer (Member # 3) on 06-26-2003, 05:43 PM:

Hell if I know, I haven't been back to that mall since those nights we removed all the Christie equipment from there. I have wondered about that myself, but just can't find a reason to go in. I have always hated that mall.

Posted by Adam Martin (Member # 641) on 06-26-2003, 06:14 PM:

Where the hell was Starport? By the address I'm guessing it's the Crate & Barrel now (next to Nordstrom)? Or was it on a pad site?

Posted by Scott D. Neff (Member # 185) on 06-27-2003, 05:37 PM:

I walked around that place swearing up and down to Adam that there was no theatre in that mall anymore. He just couldn't believe UA would close a theatre in a mall as fancy as that one.

I personally like that mall... but I only have used it for Chick-fil-A and CD shopping at the Sam Goody. It's quite swanky. I imagine Joe doesn't like it for some UA trauma he experience there... either that or he's got that Social Anxiety creeping up on him.

I love malls. But then again -- I love cheesy 70's multiplexes and was raised in the suburbs.
