I am partial to these rigs mainly due to nostalgic reasons and would like a history of where these things came from and possibly a source of replacement parts as well. This one in the top picture (Model RWN)is one I bought and restored and the second is the one like we had at the drive in my Dad ran many moons ago. If anybody can find one like this let me know.

I've got an old school A/V book that details all of the major models of 1957-58 models of film projectors, etc. There is a section on Pentron tape recorders. Would that help? There might be contact names listed for the company.

If so, I'll begin to look for it.

The machines that you have are beautiful.

I've got an old Ampex AG-440C, and a Sony TC-630.

Hey Bruce,
Yeah if you could find some info on those that would be great. The bootom picture is the tape recorder that I am looking for and I guess you might say it's my HOLY GRAIL.
Heck, I might even offer a reward if someone could help me find one like it.
These things look like something that was produced in the mid to late 50's just from the design and type of parts used.

Brings back memories. Our high school "language lab" used those in the early 1960's.
