Wow this is timely. I JUST noticed that I have never seen the same Josh picture twice. He must have at least 50 or 60.

I would like to take 360 pictures of myself, each from a one degree difference in the angle all around me. Then have those cycle. Better yet an animated GIF (EVERYONE loves animated GIFs) of it rotating non-stop. That's be cool for a few seconds. [Smile]

I stopped cycling my pics because the member photos that they were imitating had long since been replaced by their respective members, thus making my photo spoofs obsolete, just like me. So I resorted to the original pointing pic.

And yes, I am too lazy to take more pics.

Phil, YOU need a better member pic. Your face can barely be seen. I don't understand the whole Transformer motif, but whatever!

but kinda defeats the purpose of having people see what one another look like.

That's actually a remarkable picture because it was taken in very dim light which was very orange (down lighting dimmed almost completely out). My Olympus 2020Z not only nailed the exposure but did a great job of auto white balancing. In the full version the intensity of the red glow in the soundhead from the LED's and the brightness of the DTS reader indicator give a clue as to how dark it was. I believe that is Erin Brockovich unspooling.

I had a digital camera for awhile. My hard drive crashed on my computer one day and I lost all the pictures. That black and white photo I'm using on my post is from around 1962. I think digital is great for speed and general use but I prefere film for something I want to last. That includes my 16mm Bolex I still use now and then for home movies. I'm not sure how to store digital images for long term since it is being discovered that some DVD's are going bad just sitting in the box.

I've had the digital camera for almost 4 years. It was just a notch under the cutting edge of technology when I got it but now 2.1 megapixels is pretty tame so I suppose I may have to start thinking about upgrading although in reality I rarely print larger than 5 x 7" and this is fine for that. I've done 8 x 10's and they weren't bad either.

I really do need to start being more careful about backups though. Most pics are backed up to a 2nd HD but I should start burning CD's more regularly. Long term I have thought about hiring one of my clients (who own the only film recorder in town) to write my accumulation of stills out to 35mm film, probably intermediate stock as a negative. Color film fades but it is slow and predictable and I suppose I could always have them do B&W separations but my film stills are not protected that way so that may be overkill.

I personally agree that a montage of pictures would be good.
From the pictures I have seen, my favourite would be of Josh in the red hooded sweat-top, second favourite in the black beanie and third in the brown sweat-top where he looks a lot like a monk.
Can I see a picture of Josh in a bandana, would suit him.

I dont really run for fun either, because when your coming down to the last half mile or so of a hard long run, its really hard to force yourslef to go on.

I run because I believe it make me a better person. It gives me a refuge to blow off a huge amount of steam after shitty days, get some fresh air. There is nothing like coming down to the last 200 meters of a race and knowing you can catch a few people ahead of you. It also seems that with longer races, the satisfaction increases as well.

Thats all I have to say for now, and no it isnt quite a page, barely a paragraph.

I havent read the book, but there is a song by iron maiden called just that.

While I'm way too fu*king fat & old now to run, I did do the XC stuff in HS and enjoyed it.

I did the XC thing as well as track in HS too. But I never was as good as Josh.

I did it for different reasons. It kept me out of Gym classes. [Big Grin]

One of the requirements to graduate was to learn how to swim. I faked my way through it, and still graduated anyway.

I spent 20 years in the US Navy, and never learned how to swim, either. They gave up on me.

It has its merits. The best shipboard damage controlmen are the non-swimmers. They sure as hell don't want their happy home to sink! [Big Grin]

But I was not in that rate path. I was in Aviation Electronics.

I actually had a kick-ass script written that dissolved the photos together, but Opera refused to render it properly (actually, not at all!) so I went with the plain-Jane slideshow.

I'm glad everyone likes the new show ... I can't wait to see it running with over 300 randomized photos!

I'll have to sort out some more pictures I have of Josh. They are all JPG's now. If I can get Brad or someone to send me thumbnails of what Brad has, I can use that as a basis to determine what Brad does not have. Then I can "clear" them with Josh, and send them to Brad.

I want to clear the sending of future pictures with Josh before I send them. [Wink]

Hey Adam, I did something similar back when my pics first started rotating... but with Flash. I think it was a problem for two reasons. 1, the UBB didn't like Flash. 2, it would suck redoing the Flash SWF file every time I wanted to add/change a pic. But it had dissolves, wipes, zooms, etc. All at 24fps per second (specifically).

Now I can't even remember how to use Flash. Like all Macromedia programs, it is NOT user freindly and has a horrible GUI.
