ABSTRACT:
As the Feature Film industry prepares to enter the digital age, Kodak has committed to a continuing participation by developing a broader strategy that will lead the conversion from film to digital exhibition in a way that makes technical, creative and business sense for both studios and exhibitors

To do so, the Entertainment Imaging (EI) business unit of Eastman Kodak has embarked on an aggressive commercialization opportunity in the Digital Cinema Content Management, Distribution and Exhibition market – providing both products and services. EI will provide world-wide Content Management and Distribution services through Kodak Digital Cinema Services (KDCS) – a sales, marketing, and operational subsidiary of EI - and sell (or lease) Kodak Digital Cinema Operating Systems (COS) to advertisers and exhibitors to support advertising, live event and digital feature film content.

Kodak’s product and service offering is to provide the most cost-effective, reliable and easy to use system for exhibition. The Kodak Digital Cinema System is a turnkey solution that can be scaled from one Kodak Digital Cinema Projector to many, with centralized operational control through the COS of a modular, fault tolerant network storage system.

The COS is a custom software application that controls the loading, scheduling, and playback of advertisements, pre-show entertainment, trailers, and feature films with the ability to track all content in the cinema. The software is designed for platform independence and compiled to run on the Linux operating system. The COS runs on a networked storage system from best in class suppliers.

This presentation will:

1. Provide a brief Overview of Kodak Digital Cinema System.

2. Describe the Process of Content Preparation, Management, and Distribution for Exhibition.

3. Describe the Architecture of the Kodak Cinema Operating System (COS).

4. Provide a Demonstration of the System Through Multiple Display Devices.

Please join us for a casual dinner immediately following the meeting

Please call Dr. David Stern at (716) 275-1389 for dinner reservations.
