John, I caught that little wink at the end of your post. The last time I attended a SMPTE meeting their office was still at 9 East 51st Street in NYC. The word "Xenon" was new to our vocabulary. Skouras still ran theatres around the country and the Shine circuit still controlled the majority of theatre upstate NY.

I have complete faith in the committee's that are guiding into the age of "Cyan Die Tract" CDT to members of the committee. Oh yes! I am exactly where all the committee members want to be.

I am not sure of the day yet, but I will be there for 1 day. Probably during the beginning of the week. I'll probably help set up Strongs booth and then spend the first day at the show. Then I get to drive from there to Omaha!! Actually, I have to drive a car back anyway and it just so happens that they were nice enough to schedule the trade show around me!

Not this year.

My wife Betsy is in the hospital for a week of EEG testing this week (epilepsy), and we're not sure what the neurologist may want to do after the results are in later this month.

I have been to ShoWest a couple of times, and really
enjoyed both the event and Las Vegas. This year I can´t
make it, and was thinking of going to ShowEast instead.

What´s the big difference? Would you say going there
is well spent money, or should I wait and go to ShoWest
next year instead?

Save your money...the ShoWest show is at least three times larger than ShowEast....CineExpo - Europe is about 1/2 the size of ShowEast. Las Vegas has plenty of entertainment options versus the "swamplands" of Central Florida / ShowEast where other attractions are kilometers away from the convention hotel compared to Las Vegas entertainment district which can be enjoyed by walking or short cab rides.

What a matter Richard, don't you like to go Gator hunr'in? Thats great fun as is scuba diving in Florids'a natyral fresh water springs.... Theres plenty to do there in Central Florida!

After months of tests, the doctors have at least ruled out brain surgery. At one point they were looking for tumors or blocked arteries -- fortunately none were found.

We're working to get the medication levels optimized, as the side-effects are often worse than the illness. But for now, balancing four different medications seems to be helping.

I won't be attending ShoWest, fortunately not because of any health issues with Betsy, but rather due to a shift in my project assignments toward new camera films.
