Those are awfully melodramatic selections for a fun venue like a drive-in. Some fun, mildly cheeseball things like "Thank God It's Friday" would be great for that venue. Or even over-the-top stuff that's hard to take seriously like "Midnight Express" to enjoy that distance that drive-ins give you from dramas, everybody would hoot.

"Gay Drive-In" sounds like it could have been the name of a real drive-in back in the 50s or 60s!

I was only about 8 or so when MOMMIE DEAREST was released and I remember thinking of it as a horror film until I saw it again in a film class at USC and I was laughing my ass off. Trouble was that I was pretty much alone in thinking it was a comedy. All the other 400 students were watching in respectful silence. Discussion period was interesting after that movie.

Yeah! These human rights people should all be thrown in the dungeon until Caesar calls for them to fight the lions.

I wish they'd release My Own Private Idaho on DVD already. That's the film that got me interested in the independent/art house thing.

I disagree. "Hedwig" and "Mommie Dearest" need to be seen in a crowded theatre, not in a car!
