It's been over 9 months solid of a new "daily update" addition to the site. Every day for 9 months and a week now without exception something new has been added to the site, whether it is a tips page, a product review, a manual download, a video or picture tours of theaters.

The stack in the queue is starting to get awful low and at this point I am determined to see just how long this can run without missing a day. If you have a manual that is not on the site, please send it in. If your theater(s) do not have picture pages on the site already, please grab a camera and help us expand the evergrowing Picture Warehouse tours. Tips pages are always welcome, as are guest reviewers and documentation of special events. Please email me for more info.

Let the world see what your theater(s) are doing with picture tours and help the spread of knowledge with manuals, tips and other submissions. Even something as simple as an old manual that you might consider completely useless and outdated could be a goldmine of assistance to someone else out there. [Cool]

Assuming I couldn't possibly have anything worth adding to film-tech's formidable library I totally forgot about this...I have a complete parts manual and (somewhat brief) user's instruction book for my Microcine 35. The parts manual in particular is hefty and runs to in excess of 100 pages. How do I submit this (assuming it's not already on film-tech somewhere!)?

...on second thoughts 100 pages is probably a bit of an exaggeration. Probably 50 or so [Smile]

Since you are in the UK, it's not too terribly inexpensive to just drop a photocopy in the mail. Do you have a friend who has a scanner? Even if each page was scanned in as a jpg, we could assemble them back together and convert into a pdf.

I can scan the thing myself when I get chance. Don;t think I currently have any means of making a PDF out of it though.

Works like a printer driver, and does a pretty decent job at creating PDF's. I've found a few glitches with it, but for free, I'll work around it.

The free version does popup a browser window with an ad (usually for one of their other products), but you can pay them $9.95 and get rid of the ad if it offends you.

It has now been officially over a year worth of updates. Anyone have picture tours or obscure manuals they can send in for the archives? If not, we're probably going to take a little break on the updates for awhile until we get more submissions.

Thanks to everyone who has assisted by sending in submissions to help the spread of knowledge in 2003.

I have manuals for a couple of models of Gaumont Kalee projectors that aren't on the site - GK 18 and GK 37. The 37 was the last and only soundhead combined projector unit they made. I also have manuals which include circuit diagrams for a number of models of Kalee valve sound installations.

I don't have a scanner and am very happy to post them in, but would like them back after you have scanned them. Note that I'm not in your part of the world so return postage will be higher.

Are you interested in publicity material for Kalee equipment?

I didn't have a digital camera, so they're all on regular 35mm - 4x6 prints. I do have a flat bed scanner and could scan them then burn them on CD an mail them to you??

Barry, try to pick somewhere between 20-60 pics and send 'em in. Please check the submission guidelines on the "pictures" page so there is no confusion when the page is assembled.

Warren, does anyone at your theater possibly have a scanner they could bring up one day? That would be a whole lot easier.

I've been wanting to take pictures of our place for awhile, so I'll try a little harder now. Just have to get my hands on a digicam or start scanning like a madman. Either way, it's your typical Cinemark but it's home to me.

I sent Brad and Adam some really cool photos of a theatre under restoration in San Lorenzo, CA back in October. What makes the theatre special are the black light murals on the auditorium walls. There are some pics of them at http://www.savethelorenzo.org/ but I don't know why Brad or Adam never put the pics I sent on their sites?

Sounds just like the LIDO here in Newport. The LIDO is one of two operating historic single screens in Orange County; my theatre being the other one. Not sure when the Lido was built, but it has great black light murals of fish and sharks on the auditorium walls. Definately the most beautiful theatre in Orange County. Unfortunately they don't have a projectionist, and their presentation has been lacking when I have been there.

Does anyone know the history of Black Light paints? I'd like to know how long these have been used; my yahoo search just came up with tons of '60's style posters for sale. Could the "glowing" portion of these murals be original, or added over existing murals at a later date? hmm...
