Nothing but Trouble certainly wasn't the funniest movie I've ever seen but I thought it was pretty entertaining. Same goes with Emperor's New Groove.

Walked out of Grinch. Technically, it wasnt a real walkout. I was there to see another movie, but it was sold out, so I had to wait 40 minutes for the next show. I decided to watch Grinch which i had no intention of watching normally until the next show started. After 15 min I decided to walk to the lobby and just wait for my movie. It was weird too because when i walked out the theater was totally empty. Why not just turn off the projector bulb and sound when running the movie to an empty house.

Another movie I nearly walked out of was the Shadow. Fortunately i was tired and just fell asleep.

Many years ago, I was dragged to Caligula and walked out once I discovered how cruel and boring the story was. I also walked out of The Cook, The Thief, The Wife, The Lover (or whatever it was called) during the scene where the stars were having sex in a truck filled with rotten meat. (Today this would be an episode of Fear Factor or something similar on TV). This film did get great reviews though.

I can't say I have ever walked out of a movie; although I have been very tempted by such flicks as "Windtalker."

OTOH, there have been plenty of times where I have ejected a rental DVD or VHS tape before the show could finish. "Hard Boiled" is one such film. Sorry, but I just hate John Woo movies. That's one example of an "emperor's new clothes" kind of thing. The guy is overrated when it comes to directorial and editorial flash. I don't think Woo cares at all about fundamental things like character and quality acting performances either.

I was anticipating Windtalkers for a long time, but I was extremely disappointed when it came out. I thought it would be somewhat like saving private ryan. He was just protecting this indian for no immediate reason, he was on no great mission. Pointless waste of film.

1. Zoolander, got to that gas station scene and couldn't take it anymore.
2. The Medallion, wasn't the Jackie Chan I was expecting, so I left!

Would have walked out on THE STONE READER, but I was required to watch the movie with my old place of employment. [puke]

I made the mistake of deciding to watch our screening of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." I absolutely LOVE the comic books, and I hoped [Roll Eyes]

that the movie might have some resemblance to them. It didn't. I volunteered to check the projector every 10 minutes because I couldn't watch my favorite comic ruined. Watching it with the other projectionists was like participating in an episode of Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

Would have liked to have walked out of Lucky Numbers - but the damn thing had to be screened, and the only other person around that night had the misfortune of screening 'Blair Witch 2' (can't be bothered to remember the proper title.) ... still not sure who got the shorter end of the stick that night... Photographing Fairies: pseudo-psychological claptrap which I was forced to watch virtually at gunpoint to investigate a possible sync problem with the print. Within seconds of the last reel coming on I was out of there.
Ceux qui m'aiment prendront le train: it got quite good reviews, billed as a black comedy about various factions of a feuding family converging on the funeral of a not-much-loved relative, with all hell breaking loose (the kind of sitcom scenario the French tend to do well). Sadly, this bit of it was over by about half way through reel 2 and it then degenerated into long-winded discussions about philosophy, at which point I headed for the bar.

4 of these are Columbia Pictures. It's not a studio issue. He loved the Eddy Duchin Story.

Never actually walked out on one although tempted many times.

I worked on "City By The Sea" when it was shot in Asbury Park in Nov and Dec 2000. Couldn't wait for it to come out, told everyone to see it (because I worked on it mostly). Release was pushed back a few times and took my daughter with me when it finally came out.

I wanted to walk out but I kept watching it. This has GOT to get better! It didn't. Disappointing to say the least, predictable and formulaic. But I did make $50 an hour while I worked on it at least!

(No, I had nothing to do with the storyline, editing, or anything like that so you can't blame me for this one!)

I walked out of ISHTAR a.k.a. ISTRASH because the movie sucked. Came close to walking out of Cast Away not because the film sucked, but because the Cinemark Tinseltown South in Austin had some annoying Kids that had already seen the movie and we talking about all the parts that were coming up.

i don't walk out of movies, on principle. sometimes the end will justify the apparent crap that preceded it. sometimes i'll have a terrible experience the whole way through but on reflection later find something worthwhile about it. the only times have been very long films when i've just been too sleepy to absorb anything. if the intermission comes and i know more about my eyelids than what was on the screen, what's the point? 2 such instances: chushingura, and dr. zhivago (the first time). i'd still like to try and watch chushingura again.

if there's no intermission and you can't leave without disturbing anyone, i think it's pretty rude to do so.

I don't walk out on movies either. I only go to watch what I want to watch which is hardly ever. I walked out once ever on David Cronenburgs (sp?) Spider and I was only in there because All the Real Girls was cancelled that day and I had traveled far.

"LOTR:TFOTR" -- guess it doesn't really count as a walkout, but I was so bored that midway through the film I walked out of the theater, used the restroom, bought a bag of Reeses Pieces and a soda, and after consuming the former, re-entered the theater.

this doesn't exactly fit the bill, but....

i went to see 8 women after undergoing a medical test that left me with a high level of toxins in my system. i had been told to go straight home, but disregarded that advice. as the film wore on my bladder filled up, and i got more and more desperate. i was dripping with sweat. eventually i felt like i had bolts of electricity shooting out of my extremities. as soon as it was revealed whodunnit, i bolted for the bathroom. i waited out the remaining minutes in the lobby, asking the staff about why reel 4 was so trashed and so forth (not their fault, apparently). i later caught the very end at another theater.

The only one that I can SO close to walking out was the original cut release version of "Heaven's Gate". Not even in 70MM 6-Track Dolby Stereo and one of my favorite theatres to see movie helped. But I stayed to the bitter end. Later I saw the longer version it was Ok. The original cut version was such a waste of 70MM Stock.

I try very hard not to walk out of movies, if only as a professional courtesy to those who have worked on them. Even if its a giant pile of [bs]

somebody put in long hours on it.

However there are two that I really, really wanted to leave. The first was The Guru and the other was Freddy Got Fingered. In fact Freddy was so bad that I went and stood by the door so I could leave the very instant it ended. I would have broken my rule if I did not know a couple of the crew members personally.

I will admit to falling asleep during Winged Migration but that was not entirely the fault of the movie...

"Willie's Gone", a 1970's grade Z drive-in flick; which I carried a print for the producer to be shown at a distributor screening in New York....75% into the movie all 15 people walked out. Producer recut and shot more film and it became "Willie's Revenge" [puke]

made a few bucks with the change.
More recent, "Blair Witch" which made me barf and enduring five press screenings of "Titanic" [sleep]

Mind you any film will be hard to sit through after you've screened it 4-5 times a day for a couple of months. The worst ones are when you see an early cut and its really a work of art, but they keep chipping away at it version by version until whats left is an utter waste of celluloid (or polyester... whatever...)

I generally give movies a wide berth, but I absolutely cannot tolerate late-model horror/gore pictures. They bore me to tears. Herschell Gordon Lewis campy kind of things, Hammer Horror, yes, but not today's stuff. Too much going on, too much blood... effects for the sake of effects. Stories are built around different ways of mutilating people. (Yawn!) Uninteresting, unrealistic. Boring.

Movie I can recall walking out on... "The Green Mile". It was an interesting prison story at first, but lost credibility (and me) when they had the "bees" come out of his mouth! I actually laughed out loud in the auditorium because it was such a stretch (given the timbre of the story).

The ground "rules" need to be established in the setup, so audiences will accept a film's logic. You can't start out as a story about social injustice and then switch to a supernatural fantasy midstream!

One that I wished I had walked out of was Stephen King's "Rose Red."

After 4 and a half hours you'd expect to come out with some sense of what you had just sat through. It was [puke]

More recently I think 'Intolerable Cruelty' was a little bit short of the mark.

The only one I can remember walking out on was "Three Kings", a total waste of talent, an implausable and cruel movie.

"Ishtar" was another, I didn't walk out, but spent the last eight or nine reels (it seemed like it would never end) wishing it would end.
