For the past week, I've been getting a pop-up ad when I log on to FT. Today it was for the "Amazing X-Cam 2." It's kind of strange because the ads don't come up every time -- but it's happened on all 3 of the computers I use.
I wouldn't even bring this up but I know Brad has said he wants to keep the site ad-free and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen these ads or is it tied to my computers in some way?

I haven't seen them. Granted I use the Google toolbar on my browser. Haven't had a pop up ad in months.

Here here! The Google popup blocker works wonders, and it's free. It's better then the software that you have to buy.

Mike, I pay Brad $600 a month for my ads to run here. Please do not disable them!
(Seriously, I got those starting about 6 months ago and found that Pest Patrol zaps them. ...now I agree with the Google thingie!)

I havn't notice any popups here at Film-Tech. This has always been one of the few safe havens from those damn things.
I love that sound the pop-up killer makes everytime it kills an ad.
Especially if there is over 3 on a page.
Popups killed so far since August, 2003

Without any pop-up blocking software at all, I have recieved 0 ads. I feel 100% comfortable saying that I don't think Brad would force Ad's upon us, as he has already gone great legnths to keep the site ad free.
I would highly suspect annother application running on your comptuer,
check your installed programs for anything from n-Case, ALL that program does is pop up ads, regardless of what site you're on.

Perhaps a clearification is in order here... It's not a pop-up...it's an "IM message"

Same here, no pop-up killer and I've never seen an ad while visiting this forum.
I did pick up a hijacker that kept changing my IE startup page. AdAware couldn't deal with it, so I used a combination of HijackThis, CWShredder, and SpyBot Search & Destroy to get rid of that one.

Get this free program and run it.

I feel as if I've said this about a dozen times now.
Download and run Ad-Aware 6. You may also be receiving popup ads if you have Instant Messaging software running or are not behind a properly-configured firewall.

Adam...Is that a Baker's dozen?

Adam: That link points to only one instance where you said that.
We're going to need ten more links or you'll be charged with misleading the public.

There are no ads of any sort on Film-Tech, popup or otherwise. The funding for the site comes from the sale of our fine products.

Funny,
I don't recall ever getting any popups on FT....
I've run Pop-Up Stopper for well over a year now, but I don't notice any 'kills' when on FT... must be your guys end line?

I have pop up blockers on my browser but the pop up ads on Film-Tech manage to get through anyway! There are tons of them. The pop up ads will also disable any pop up blocking mechanisms I have including ones built into the browsers themselves. And this ONLY happens when I visit Film-Tech. The pop up ads delete Ad Aware as well. The Film-Tech virus also gets through and infects my PC if I use that instead of the Mac. The virus assumes I am a movie pirate and erases my entire hard drive! That's happened 8 times so far. And ONLY when I visit Film-Tech. If I knew better, I wouldn't come to this site. Film-Tech's pop ups and viruses are teh ghey.
