I wanted to know if the font that Famous Players uses in its stylized name is an actual font, or if there is a font that resembles it.

Looks like Futura to me. Or a variant.

Well, I use to have Futura, but when my comp was upgraded, we lost it... and so some searching led me to this version of Futura...

You're welcome, Andrew. I knew it looked familiar, it's the same font used in my Cinemotion Dater remakes for Screen Attractions.com.
