When I click on anything on the left panel menu, it opens in a new window. Is this a new feature, or am I doing something wrong?

Depends on what browser you are using. I believe this one and Mozilla have the option of opening anything you click in its own new window. You could possibly have this turned on and dont realise it.

Chat is the only thing in the nav pane that is specifically sent to a new window.

Yes Ive noticed this on my work PC Windows NT4 with Explorer 6 , while my home PC XP Pro with Explorer 6 does not have any issues , but this is the first time it has happened at work ,I have to right click Forum and open in a New Window ?

My fault.......I thought I had written which browser I was using in my previous post. Im using MY IE2 which is my favorite out of a few Ive used.

It's just a (known) bug in the browser that causes the window ID's to get corrupted causing a new window to be pushed onto the stack when you click a link referencing a target window.

Just restart the browser and it'll go away.
