And on the third day Jesus arose from the dead, and ascended in to heaven.
But before he left he apparently ate all the food in the coffee shops and bakeries. Thus began the tradition of closing on Easter.
I'm so hungry. I went out this morning and tried to get a breakfast burrito but the shop was closed. I then went to the bakery where they make a killer egg sandwich, but they were closed. Then I went to the coffee shop, but they were closed.
I'm not sure where the egg laying bunnies come in to play?

Quick! Charter a jet from Santa Rosa to here Ian. Gorgeous breakfast buffets all over town here today.

Religous discussions will not be tolerated on Film-Tech, Especially not Egg Sandwich Worshiping religions!
Posted by Manny Knowles (Member # 1171) on 04-11-2004, 02:05 PM:
The title of this thread seems inflammatory, especially since the discussion is actually about a food-finding problem.

For Ian Food is a religious experience

Amen! Brother.
The burrito shop opened later and I was sated with a breakfast burrito with chorizo.

This thread needs to win the award for best title!
I love it!
Many things are open around here.

I don't believe that it matters whether or not you think it's a cool title. The rules clearly state that religion is a no-no.
The assertion that "Jesus was a Zombie" is bound to offend some members -- particularly on Easter Sunday -- and I credit Ian with enough common sense to realize this.
Posted by Claude S. Ayakawa (Member # 1401) on 04-11-2004, 04:48 PM:
I agree one hundred percent with Manny. I WAS very offended by the title of this thread and it was not funny at all!
I have posted a proper titled thread with a very cute Easter greeting a friend sent me yesterday. I enjoyed it very much and I hope do too.

You mean you can't talk about the historical Jesus either?
Posted by Robert E. Allen (Member # 1351) on 04-11-2004, 07:18 PM:
Don't sweat it Claude. It only confirms what was prophesied about the way people would behave in the end-times.

[av=s]OMG OMG OMFG!!!! You heard him! It's the end of the world!!!!!!!!!! I guess that means prices will be pretty low and I can score some good deals on stuff.
Posted by Adam Martin (Member # 641) on 04-11-2004, 07:58 PM:
Jesus was a glass of rum with fruit juice and apricot liqueur? Sweet!
zombie n A dead body that has been brought back to life by a supernatural force [syn: the living dead]
I don't see what the problem is, other than some people need to either get a sense of humour and stop whining about everything that offends them or crawl back under the rock.
Posted by Chris Hipp (Member # 1788) on 04-11-2004, 08:09 PM:
I am only offended by the notion that anyone would be brought back from the dead.
Great title in my opinion. I love being politically incorrect
This Just come through on CNN: Historians have just discovered that human beings, particularly the male gender, have been dicks since the beginning of time. Noone acts any differently now than they did 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, or 10,000 years ago.
I hope this thread will be closed, FT is one place I like to come without having to worry about getting religion crammed down my throat.
Posted by Adam Martin (Member # 641) on 04-11-2004, 08:37 PM:
This thread is not about religion. It's about Ian not being able to find a breakfast burrito today. Manny chose to take it off-topic rather than emailing a moderator with his concerns, which is what he should have done.
Any further discussion of anything other than finding breakfast on a holiday in this thread will result in a stoning.
Posted by Manny Knowles (Member # 1171) on 04-11-2004, 09:17 PM:
There's clearly a double-standard at work here -- talk about how great religion is and the thread gets moderated.
Say something that might piss off a Christian and suddenly "some people need to get a sense of humor."
I'm disappointed.
Posted by Chris Hipp (Member # 1788) on 04-11-2004, 09:35 PM:
So, has anyone ever considered buying the frozen breakfast burritos at the store? Then it would not matter if they are closed.
One thing that makes me want to vomit are these things called Toaster scramblers or soemthing liek that. IT is basically a toaster strudel with scrambled eggs inside. kinda gross
Posted by Paul Mayer (Member # 355) on 04-11-2004, 09:53 PM:
I dunno. Frozen home ones don't make it for me.
There's just something about a good restaurant breakfast burito...
Posted by Rachel Gilardi (Member # 1016) on 04-11-2004, 10:56 PM:
Whoa Manny, calm down! You know we do the best we can!!!
Chris I agree, those toaster scramblers are the nastiest things I've ever tasted, eggs are not meant to be mushy. EWWWWW

I'll have to try one of those. Naugle's BBs got me through my lower division in college back in the day...
Heh, climbing through flight level 800!

I fail to see this. Ian is hungry. Ian wants food. Ian couldn't get his food because the stores were closed due to a holiday, yet somehow Ian managed to maintain his wits over not being able to feed. Then in a humorous way he made a post about it. It would be different if he came on here and started forcing whatever his religious beliefs are down everyone's throat or fired up a bible study thread. The man just wants to eat. He has done nothing wrong.
No two people will read text in the same manner and no two people will react the same way. However in this case, other than Manny reading into the situation and Claude being offended at a joke, no one else that I have spoken to this evening finds this thread anything but funny. (Claude please never visit the Joke-A-Thon forum, as you're bound to be insanely offended by some of the stuff in there.) It is also important to note that I have not received a single private email from anyone expressing a concern over this today. Bearing also in mind the fact that I tend to ignore people who complain publicly and only listen to people who complain via private email to me...and this thread will stand as it is. Any further discussion regarding religion will be removed and that member removed from posting for a cool off period. This thread is about food...specifically breakfast burritos.

I love breakfast burritos, too. Especially before I go to church..just kidding people. This thread is funny, and I agree with Brad that Claude should stay away from the joke forum, if he is offended easily.

Being stoned makes most people hungry. I want another breakfast burrito.
Posted by Hillary Charles (Member # 769) on 04-12-2004, 12:30 PM:
Please don't stone me. I only said these breakfast burritos were good enough for Jehovah!

Religious remarks removed by Moderator
As far as finding a place to eat, Easter is a very busy day for restaurants because of the tremendous amount of busines when people would eat out after attending Mass or other services like I did yesterday. As far as I can tell, no restaurants and fast food stores were closed in my little town of Waipahu where the population is made up of 70% Roman Catholic like myself.

This was just 4 posts up. Take a 24 hour break from the forums, Claude. Your next religious post will be your last one. This rule has been in place for a long time and anyone who will not abide by the rules on these forums will no longer be a member. I've got better things to do than play babysitter.

I have also been known to make my own breakfast burrito from time to time. Yes, I know it is a crzy idea but it is simple. Just eggs, sausage, green peppers, gouda cheese and a tortilla. add salsa to you liking.

Todd had "quiet fun" with 67 bananas... Hmmmmm... I will bring this "enlightening" revelation up at my next session with Dr. Mayii to see if I can understand.

Richard, those 7-11 go-go taquitos are delicious! Especially the Jalepino Cream Cheese flavor.
It's amazing the variety of food 7-11 can cook on a hot-dog grill.
Hmmm -- 3 of my last 4 posts were about food. I'd better go get something to eat.
Posted by Richard Fowler (Member # 893) on 04-13-2004, 07:17 AM:
Mike, the Jalepino is the spicy best
After I wrote the last post, I left the office and picked up three ( on sale ) for my long 12 minute drive home

Has anyone had those pancake breakfest things from Mc Donalds? I have been reluctant to try them and instead stick with the Sausage Muffin with Egg. Yummy
Posted by Brian Michael Weidemann (Member # 2243) on 04-14-2004, 09:19 PM:
The "McGriddle" I believe it's called ... yes, I tried one. The thing is, the "bun" part of a "sandwich" should be DRY! Pancakes and the like tend to be sticky and/or gooey, and I was just curious enough about the taste that I subjected myself to greasy hands for the duration of its consumption.
I stick to the Sausage McMuffin With Egg diet, personally.
